They can post that stuff if they want to. They don't have to introduce themselves either.

Report it then (information bit), and they don't have to explain. They don't need to tell you, or us why they came here.

I do see where you are coming from though. Balto Source is not at all how it used to be and it will never go back to how it used to be.

This is a social network site, so it doesnt give me the element of surprise. See how I put where I reside? And I've been here for quite a while. Its just a way for them to introduce themselves more.

Conay is right, Animation Source is NOT a Social Networking site. Though plenty of people seem to have forgotten that.

I would call it a forum/gallery site, tbh, but both generally shouldn't require spreading your personal info out, I agree. I believe we once had a note under the SB for a long time warning about it, but not now.

Giving out personal information is not allowed because I'm sure we all know the kind of people that lurk around the internet, and we try to keep anything bad like that happening to any of the members. The younger members here might not always make the best decisions, and thats exactly who these sick people target.

What if a younger member is sexually harassed through PMs or over the phone because they gave away their phone number. The parents could very well have this site taken down in the extreme, and Steet may get in legal trouble. Thats the extreme of course, but not impossible. If members want to be social like that, there are other sites. Or, even better, the real world. Go out and meet people face to face instead of over the internet. You never know who they really are.
