Because more people need to know about this. Especially you guys who are so hyped up on saving wolves.
They don't need saving. But sharks do.

This is the less gruesome video I could find. It says pretty much all you need to know. It's truly cruel and inhumane, and needs to be stopped. Sharks don't deserve this, for they are so beautiful, peaceful and so horribly misunderstood. Check out this amazing video, you'll see what I mean.

Please share your thoughts and opinions on this. If you want human cruelty, this is the perfect definition of it.

I agree with you rebel, but i think all animals need to be protected not just the ones who are already endangered or threatened. If we don't take care of them then we could lost so much beauty in this world, and if we lost one animal species then we lose two two then three. So protect ALL animals.

This doesn't have anything to do with 'all' animals, just sharks. And I'm not saying other animals don't need protection, I'm just saying a lot of them don't.

If people on the forum can make thousands of "SAVE THE WOLFS!!!1" topics, then I can make one about sharks. Because they need it more than wolves do - as do many many other animals. Like African Wild Dogs, the Amur Leopard, and so on.

I know.. it's disgusting. I've seen one particular vid that had me in tears, it was so heartbreaking. The shark was swimming so awkwardly after they threw it back in, obviously in agony. ;;

I say if you can't have it done to yourself don't do it. If you can't cut someones leg off and then just set them free then you can't do it to another animal. I think it is cruel who people treat God's creatures and i am not religious so don't think i am preaching cause i am not. If people went by what the Bible said then they would not be so cruel to these helpless animals and what about the whale and manatees oh those poor creature. And what about the cows have you seen the way we treat them? If I didn't have veggies so much i would be a vegetarian. I mean look how we are slowly killing ourselves by the way we treat the world. Do on to others as you'd have them do on to you.

I agree with a lot of what you said. Animal cruelty needs to be stopped. There are humane ways of killing animals for food, and I respect those that follow these ways. But when they are treated as cruelly and inhumanely as this just for soup, then it's getting ridiculous and disgraceful and has to stop.

And I love meat too much to ever even think about becoming vegetarian. xD

It's making money for them that do it and its something they eat. Humans are cruel. That's just the way it is.

Plenty of animals are cruel. We just show it in more obvious ways.

I never said no other animals were cruel. Unlike humans, THEY don't know any other way. If people want to be more humane about it just kill the dumb shark before the cut off its fins.

When I said I wasn't religious i meant not in a christian way. I am a Wicca. I am a naturalist. And I see the way other animals treat each other I live in the forest and I watch coyotes rip deer and rabbits apart, but they don't hurt us.

But they do. Plenty of them kill for the heck of it, just like us.
And yes, I agree. They should kill it, I don't understand why they don't.

Shark finning is just <i>disgusting</i>. Leaving them to bleed to death in the sea without use of their fins is just ... ugh. It makes me sick.

I wish there were some better way of monitoring what's going on but with the ocean being so vast it's a huge under-taking. :/
I suppose stopping the demand for them would help but that's unlikely, they're so hell-bent on having their posh shark-fin soup they'd never dream of it. The traditional medicines just ... anger me. There's no medical value to them at all they just refuse to be sensible about it.

How horrid. I don't understand how people can be like this, most people don't even care for sharks after watching sterotype movies, like Jaws. Sharks can feel too.
