I noted something between the two versions of ADGTH. Carface is much more active in the first movie than he is in the second one. In the second, he actually had to be told by Reginald to do things other than voluntarily go out to do mischievious activities. It is like he expressed no interest to do anything to Charlie in the second movie than in the first one, where he vowed to eliminate Charlie whatever it took, where here it really was Reginald's dirty work instead.

Being a mafia leader (not literally but you get the point) almost getting people killed Itchy and Not forget to meation use of weapons and Burning Charlie's place down for peaths sake. Carface didn't do ANYTHING like that in the 2nd. but then again.. How could he? He lost his entire group.. died by being eaten by an alligator as well as having his entire base destroyed in the ending of the first movie So .. he kinda was reduced to nothing..

I find it hard to replace actors, but the two movies had two completely different feels to it. Ernest Borgnine is a great actor, he just wasn't suited for that role.

From the looks of things, he was terrified of Red. Think about it, the guy shows up and pretty much says 'you're just a rookie compared to me' when it comes to being evil. And to be honest, even if Carface was as bad in the second film as the first, he'd still have not been as bad as Red was. Red's plan was to suck all of Heaven down to Hell, which is far worse than anything Carface ever did. Not only that but Red had a large amount of supernatural power to him, Carface was pretty much just a mortal guy. So he only did what Red commanded him to do, because if he didn't do what he told him to, who knows what he'd have done.
About Carface using Gabriel's Horn himself, he didn't know how to. The most he could think to do with it was open bank vaults and pick locks, he didn't know it could be used for what Red wanted to do with it until the end of the film.
And here's another thing you guys are overlooking, Carface spent the time between movies in Heaven, whose to say that didn't soften him up some.

But didn't he wind up his clock at the end of the first film, though? So, if you want to get technical, Carface forfeited his place in Heaven just as Charlie did, but obviously wouldn't have gone to find redemption. ....Ah, plot-holes, you truly are a wondrous subject to think about. Crit to that. They never showed Carface fully being able to wind that watch. ? Who's to say Annabelle got the watch back before he did? But.. Then again.. Why there was a complete revamp of Heavens concept itself is put to question. Can only go back to earth by the watch.. Now only can go back to heaven through a gate? XD See the conflict. XD

^ Not really. The watch is apparently the only way to physically return to Earth without concent of an angel. Don't forget, Carface and Charlie were only physical on Earth with Red's collars, otherwise they were pretty much ghosts. Returning to earth through the gates didn't make them physical and able to interact with the mortal world like rewinding their life clock did. In the end, Anabelle gives Charlie a new life herself and in the series, they're Guardian Angels, which has its own rules.
So each way works differently. Returning to Earth through the Life clock gives you a physical form but of course condeems your soul to Hell when it stops. Returning through the gates lets your soul return to Earth without a physical body. Being a Guardian Angel apparently means you're still immortal and have access to Heavenly power.
And I agree, we don't see Carface actually use his life clock, just steal it Anabelle may have chased him down and got it back or just talked him out of it.
As for Carface returning from Hell in the series, I personally think Belladonna did it in exchange for being able to use him as her lacky whenever she needed him. She just didn't call in the favor until season 2.

Question, I can't remember but was it actually shown to be HIS life clock he grabbed? If not it probably wouldn't work at all. Just saying there are a number of ways Carface could've not wound up his clock. Also, Charlie winding his up didn't take effect till he closed it, implying you have to actually start the thing and its not automatic. So its possible she caught him or simply talked him out of it. Carface really didn't have revenge motivating him to return to Earth like Charlie did (ok, King Gator ate him but still), so it might actually be able to make him know its not worth it. Red's add promised power and money, something that would really apply to Carface, so he's getting something out of it and it didn't require rewinding his life clock. He still thought he was an angel until Red told him he wasn't.
And like I said, the canon with the series is cleared up pretty quick when you wonder how he knew Belladonna, the easiest explaination for that is Belladonna is the one that let him out in the first place and called in the favor later.

But even after he started winding it, Anabelle hadn't yet given up on him completely and he didn't return to earth until after he closed it. So I'm guessing that seals the deal. And that wasn't needed to activate a pocket watch anyway. I'm guessing they have a trigger to give them a last chance to turn back. Anabelle probably wouldn't have chased Carface if winding it up was all that was required sense he'd already started. So I'm assuming that it takes a trigger of some sort.
Yeah, that is something to wonder. Perhaps he went back to his old ways offscreen? We didn't see him in Heaven in the sequel, so ether he was somehow still alive or not in Heaven for some reason. Thing is, we don't really know if dogs age the same way in their world as ours. So its possible Killer was still alive (Itchy was, and didn't die of old age, he choked to death) by the time the series happened and Carface just hooked back up with him for some reason, maybe because Killer was afraid of him, or Carface offered him a kinder partnership, which seemed to be the case. Carface wasn't exactly a great boss in the series, but better than in the movie. Carface wasn't up to 'hardcore evil' in the series, Killer seemed to be morally questionable, just not to the point killing a little girl was something he'd do. Carface treats him better (than in the movie), they aren't doing as bad of things, and Killer wasn't the most morally upright person anyway (seeing as he was working with Carface to begin with).
