I already know someone posted a rant like this one called 'Attack of the Blank Renders,' but this one may (possibly) be a bit different... so...

Has anyone else noticed all the blank render linearts lately?

I mean at first is was the Sofiel blank render takeover and now everyones making BLANK RENDERS. As if the site needs anymore blank renders for people to color in!!

And its not just one or two... some people have more than 20 blank renders in their image gallery.

Seriously, can't you guys make your own?


I mean its one thing to use blank renders for a quick ref, but to have them ALL OVER YOUR GALLERY?!

Wouldn't you like to MAKE SOMETHING YOURSELF for a change?

Don't you want to feel the satisfaction of spending a couple of minutes rendering and then able to call it your own, INSTEAD OF HAVING TO GIVE CREDIT TO SOMEONE??!!!???

I agree, there should be better blank render rules. Its so uncreative and lazy.

I'm so fed up with those and renders in general. I've removed every gallery from my favorites that has renders in them. I'm THAT sick of renders.

I don't understand how these creations can legally be allowed here. Newsflash, but those screenshots they're coloring over are DRAWINGS that are under copyright law. It's like taking a drawing from an artist and rendering over it. If that were my drawing I wouldn't be happy at all.

So yes, there needs to be a limit to blank renders, and the renders aswell.

I dislike renders in general and really think they should be gotten rid of completely or given their own section so they don't muck up the images section. What's worse with renders is most people don't even make decent ones. =| It's not that hard to do. -.- All though bad renders should not even be accepted as it IS in the rules where you submit your stuff that bad renders are not allowed.

But if people want to make renders because its "creative" (pft... its really not, though), then they should have to make their own renders and the "blank ones" should be gotten rid of. I miss the time when the images section was dedicated to ... well ... actual fan graphics.

Here, IN MY OPINION, is how the raito should be.
Graphics to Renders
4:1 For every four graphics, one render.
Blank renders could go with the renders. Cuz seriously, BS/TLKS is like, 1 : 7

I wish the ratio would be changed to reclaim the image section.

After finishing two outstanding render trades, I'm shutting down renders for good unless it's for a graphic. Because I feel like I'm part of the render problem and want to clean up at least my corner of the fan image sections.

I am tired of colored in blank render after colored in blank render. It gets boring after a while.

I've began to put a Cap on my Blanks, the users are limited and i am currently in the middle of Getting rid of my Whoel BS gallery as i have quit that site.

the fact of the mater is This place is for fandom not complete artist or else it would have been called and balt/tlk/spirit/adgth/ and so on art site and not fan site. Now i will not disagree that ratio's could be changed. but while everyone is ranting on renders vd graphics and both vs drawings, think of this, the drawin gcomunity of AS isn't all that lagit either. All the styles are begining to look alike, everyone uses the same themes, soem of the best artist gallerys are in the far back of the Gallery section because people only fav people who give them requests,gifts, or they only fav people who are thier friends.

Not to mention the fact that hardly anyone ever draws any Offical Movie characters for whatever site they are posting them on. all you see if fancharacter arts, while this happens in the fanimages galleries as well, it's at the same callibur.

face it what you people are askign for is DA, well then go there. this is also a kids site and not all kids can draw, so the render, and some times rendering believe it or not can sometimes help you learn to draw, you get used to the lines, and then the younger user may not be pro's at rendering or drawing so they liek to color in blanks, which are kind alike coloring pages, and they want to show others what they did so they post them, now as for the older users over using blank renders there isn't much i can say about this.

personaly this is a never ending war you all seem to have started an dlike to kepp starting as this rant IS just liek the other ones and all the ones before that one. Steet doesn't see a problem with it evadently so i would just let it go, if you want art and Graphics go the DA to get all of that, but for fan works you come here, and fan works come in a Variaty of verions.

personally everyoen on here even the older users are acting like complete childern about things, around here and i have foudn the younger users keep more harmony here than the older ones do. now I haven't been in BS for osme time but if you don't want to see the renders in the gallerys don't go to the ones that have them, if you don't liek blank render don't suport the gallery sthat use them.

It's your art that everyone is using and I know its your not your fault that they keep using it, but after I re-read my post I feel like I was kind of saying it was your fault for all the blank renders. WHICH IT IS NOT. So I'm sorry if I possibly may have offended you.

Notes on subject:

I know that renders help users, its helped me too, but I cannot see why new users can't at least TRY to render. It's not so hard. And you don't need photoshop. I use paint for my renders.
I believe Sora-kun is right, Balto kind of got lost in his own site. Now its all about the fan-characters.
So maybe, one of the problems we need to fix is to actually to add more Balto art to the site?

I also don't want to ask Steet, because he has such a job already. And I'm pretty sure he gets bugged about this problem enough. I was just ranting, because I couldn't find this Image artist I was looking for and it annoyed me, so I ranted. I'm sorry if I annoyed anyone else.

Can't renders go there too? The site was intended for actual fanworks, graphics, love for the offical characters.

Question: No Render are nto Aloud on DA most get deleted by Anom on there and the ones that get skipped are Suposed to be reported. that why theres is a Doll Base Rebellion on that site because traced bases are renders techincally. so DA is a safer place for the artist here to go for paln old graphics and art. telling soem one to grow up is the truth, this is a fan site and people want it to be an art site, but thats not what it is, adn then they don't want to talkt o steet about it.

Paint: you didn't offend me, I'm pretty sure most people understand it's not the Blank render makers faults that they get over used or Duplicated in some ways as far as the blank renders theme goes. And as far as not wanting to talk to steet, it still helps, even though he doesn't seem to car eabout this matter, you oculd offer up sugestions about caps on the number of Blank renders or Renders a Gallery can have. I'ms ure he might want to listen to that. And he's alwys willign to help if you worn out all other options first, like when i have a problem and i've talked to users, Mods, and Admin about it, and it stilld oesn't make any sence, then i PM hima nd see if he could explain it, and you be suprised what is and isn't suposed to be done around here (on both mods and users part mind you) as the webmaster even tho he might not care if people over use blanks or renders, its still good for him to hear from the users whats going on around the site and what their concerns are. nothing gets fixed or solved on websites if you don't try and speak up to the person who's running it.

I think renders are ok as long as people don't overuse blank renders. I think if you put in more Balto icons or sigantures isntead of blank renders.I think rendering should be allowed so people can practice cause it took me awhile to get to where I was before I started rendering...

Then they can use Photobucket, or where ever else. Telling someone to "Man up" suggests that they are a girl (if they are male) and that they are childish.
