As I'm sure most of you know 9 years ago next Saturday was the most tragic event in American history and possibly in all of man-kind. Approxamitley 3000 innocent men and women lives were tragically taken when four hijacked airplanes flew into the, World Trade Center in New York City, the Pentagon in Washington DC, and flew into a vacant field in Shanksville Pennsylvania on it's way to the Capitol Building in DC.
At 8:46am American Airlines flight 11 crashed into the North Tower of the World Trade Center followed about 15 minutes later when at 9:03am United Airlines flight 175 crashed into the South Tower of the WTC. About 45 minutes after the plane crashed into the South Tower it collasped, bringing down all who were in it to their tragic grave. And no longer than 10 minutes later the second tower crashed into the streets taking all of whom remained in the tower with it. All in all about 2000 innocent civilians lives were taken at the WTC sites.
As most of you know they also went after Washing DC the nation's capital. At 9:37am American Airlines flight 77 crashed into the Pentagon. Killing all who were on board the airplane including about 200 men and women working inside of the Pentagon in that location at that time.
And the 4th airplane that crashed in a field in Shanksville PA was en route to the US Capitol building when the heroic men and women of that flight faught back against the hijackers. Putting their lives infront of their countries livelyhood. Tragically the hijackers before they were killed crashed the plane into an empty field. Not too far from an elementary school in Shanksville.
To all of the families who lost friends and loved ones and to all of those who lives were tragically taken in those horrific string of events. I will never forget you and I will always remember that day as a day of infamy. It deeply saddens me to write this but it's something that I feel I need to do. I am sorry to all of those who were brutally murdered and I am sorry to all of the families who lost friends and loved ones. May you all rest in peace, I will never forget you and I love you all. May peace be with you.
____
Please keep the political side out of this. If you do bring that in, especially conspiracy theorist, I will report you. Out of respect to the families and those who were lost on during the tragedy that we have come to know as 9/11, please keep it on a personal level and share your views and experiences based on the tragic events.
____
One last note I want to add. I have a favor to ask all of you, not only American's but as a human race. May we all on 9/11 leave a small note in our signatures to commemerate all of the men and women who died on that day. Thank you.

What a sad day, not a doubt. I was too young to remember any of this happening live, but I know how horrible of a thing it was from stories I've heard from survivors and from people who watched this on the news as it happened.
And I want to thank all the brave rescue men and women who fought hard that day to help save as many lives as they could possibly save.
And even if I know I won't be on on 9/11 to leave a note in my signature, I'll be sure to remember to do it a few days before, as a token of appreciation for those brave men and women, and for the lives of those taken and their families.

Yeah, I remember it pretty well. I was 9 when it happened and I remember my mom taking me out of school early that day. And told me what was going on on the car ride home. And then I was glued to the tv like everybody else in the world was.
And I remember a few days later the elementary school principal held a little assembly out on the playground to tell us what happened. And I remember about all 150 elementary students starting the USA chant. I was 9 years old and still remember that clear blue sky. I will never forget the USA chant, gives me chills everytime I think about it.

It was unfortunate that had to happen. I believe I was in the 1st grade at the time. Though it was far to long ago for me to remember what happened that day at school, or what my reaction was.
I will be sure to add something to my sigg. Done.

9/11 was a tragic event, when most of us here in Britain thought terrorism is coming to an end (After the IRA attacks finished), Osama Bin Laden brought it back to our World, in one of the worst possible ways. Even I (as Anti-American as I am) can put aside all cliques and support the "hunt" for Bin Laden.
EDIT:// Paragraph removed because of issues with other members. Also, may I add that I have completely withdrawn my opinion on that matter. However, what I said was not intended to be flame, nor was it an Anti-American statement, I simply saying that I can be Anti-American. Finally, can I say that I regret using the word "glad", as I assume many people assumed that I was glad the incident happened which I'm not, I was simply stating that I would rather be killed within a few seconds (which still isn't nice) then choke or burn to death.
I will try and put a message in my siggy (that's if I have time... EDIT:// Which as it's a Saturday I will).

Conay: I can see where you're coming from when you said they were glad they collasped to put them out of their misery. But when the towers collasped it did way more harm then good. Think about the people who were on the way down to their escape back into freedom. They all died. And when the towers collasped it released billions of toxins into the air. And now people who were involved with the 9/11 at the WTC sites are coming down with forms of cancer, most commonly lung cancer. So it did more harm then good. Yes, it put the people on the 103rd floor out of their misery but think about the person on the 22nd floor in the stairwell making his way down. If the tower would've never collasped he'd be at home with his/her family but because it collasped he can no longer spend time with the people he/she loves. Just a little note to think about.

Even I (as Anti-American as I am) can put aside all cliques and support the "hunt" for Bin Laden. On a more positive note though (and I know I may get slated for this), I'm glad the towers collapsed, because at least all those trapped up in the higher floors would have either been forced to jump, or suffocate (and in some cases burn) to death. It also led to a "revolution" in the construction industry, leading to more buildings being built with more then one pressure hold (i.e The Gherkin). I will try and put a message in my siggy (that's if I have time). I just don't get you, Conay. Not in the least. And for the following reasons: a) (and this is a BIG one) You are the only member I have ever seen, in all my time on Animation Source (going back as far as 2006 before I first officially joined in early 2007) who has willingly and blatantly expressed antagonistic sentiments towards a country not your own. ANY country. Whether it is the United States or aught else. And I reeeeaaaally cannot fathom how you don't see that as a problem. It's provocative, it's anti-social, it's discourteous, and it's plain dumb. And if you have anti-American sentiments, you should keep them to yourself. Whether you know it or not, or realize it or not, the majority of the members on this site are, most likely, United States citizens, who just may not be speaking up for fear of starting an argument or flame war. Because they have more common sense than that anyway. Or they are just afraid. Either way, they certainly don't say something as blatantly discourteous as "I am anti-American". UGH.b) NO good came out of the collapse of the World Trade Center towers. None. Trying to put a positive spin on it is insensitive. There is NO good way for a human being to die (unless one considers dying peacefully while asleep and unaware of the occurrence). And it is unfortunate how you appear to trivialize the horror and suffering of that day, for people of MANY nationalities (as more than Americans died in the World Trade Center buildings that terrible day) by comparing one type of death as better than another. Nope. I just don't get how you don't see the consequences of what you put into print. I'd like to think you have at least an ounce of empathy for other people (dead or alive). Am I wrong?

Let's keep anything "Anti-American" out of this topic. The whole forums in fact.
On topic : A question; How does yours school remember 9/11? Our school did slideshows about it. Took a moment of silence for those people who lost their lives. (I'm curious) And my other schools talked about it, though not deeply.

Idk what my school does, since this is my first year here. But my old school held a moment a silence. And I remember shortly after the attacks when I was in elementary school they held a couple of assemblies talking about the tragedy. I'm assuming it was nothing unusual for a normal upper midwestern school. It was probably a lot different for people who grew up in New York and New Jersey at the time but it affected the whole country and I'm sure people in Alaska held some sort of moment of silence just like I did in the upper midwest and back out in the northeast.
And yes please keep the "anti-american garbage out of here" if it is mentioned again I'm gonna report ya.
