I see nothing wrong with that. Many people wish to show their online friends what they look like. It's not that big of a deal.

You can disable avatars if it bugs you.

And I'm not bothered by people sharing photos of themselves at all. Some people like sharing what they look like to their friends and stuff. *shrug* Seems fine in my pov.

Sometimes people put their pictures as their avatars.

Either way, it is up to the individual as to whether or not they wish to share personal pictures or even information (wise or unwise it might be in certain cases). If you don't like seeing them do it, don't look. You have nothing to lose if they put that stuff online.
