Ive been thinking about this...

Wouldnt Balto have broken his back or his neck when Steele threw him against a rock. I mean, that was a hard impact and a hard whiplash. Trust me, I have experience.

As a supreme physics nerd, that scene, and both cliff scenes always annoyed me.

Even when I first saw it at about five years old.

It's a kids' movie, so violence is one thing they can't do. Though if you look closely, its believed that blood might have been involved when Balto hit that rock.

When first seeing the movie about eight years ago, I thought it to be rubble, but upon recent closer inspection, I belive it is blood

Really? I never notice that. Blood in a children show? ok... that is a first.

If you look closely, the particles don't have a rocky shape, they're much smoother, like a drop of liquid

But where is the blood supposed to come from? There isnt any sign of a scrape, cut, or anything the rest of the movie. :|

I've always thought it was blood, but I never saw any blood on the snow or on his face once he got back up.

erm guys... that looks more like snow to me. you know when you hit something real hard, something sticking to it(snow) would flew off. And snow can come in all shapes and sizes and the background was dark so it looks like blood as it is well dark
