Was Balto doing the right thing?

Was it right for Balto to show Jenna his crystals at that point in time? I mean, it couldve come at a worse time. She had heard the doctor say that Rosy was going to die. But then again, maybe Jenna wouldve never known how to create the sky lights around the end of the film.

It always cracks me up to see Balto macking on Jenna when she's so emotionally vulnerable.

I'm not sure, Like NewYorkBaltoFan said, she was emotionally vulnerable, and he was using that. So it's a little iffy for me.

Balto was doing the right thing, he is just showing the truth to Jenna since she is the one who wants to know.

Jenna needed some cheering up and Balto showed her something that he probaly have'nt even shown Boris.

He was trying to impress, because he was smitten with her. What guy wouldn't try to impress a girl he's fallen over?

Incidentally, they weren't crystals...they were shards of broken bottle glass...of various colors. And even as far back as the 1920s (and long before that), glass bottles were blown and molded in a variety of colors.

Well, first of all she hadn't heard the diagnosis yet. Second, one can't really judge the morality of an action based on consequences. It's not entirely unheard of for well-intended choices to go awry while malicious ones reap seemingly good results - like when Steele cheated and won the race.
Now, just to try and guess at why Balto showed her the lights, I can come up with two possibilities. He may have done it in hopes of easing her concern, which is certainly a noble thing to try to do. Also, as JC pointed out, he cared about her. Maybe he was trying to lead into telling her that, letting her know that whatever happened, he wanted to be there for her. That's hardly ignoble when born out of genuine care for someone.

I was the right thing to for them both they both wouldn't know that Rosie is going to die, and Balto wouldn't retrieve the anti-toxin.
