What was Steele doing?

What was Steele supposed to be imposing in the beginning? Was he trying to catch himself a date or something, because thats what I think. Maybe he and Jenna were ex-boyfriend and girlfriend until Balto came along and that is part of the reason Steele is so envious.

This is exactly how I saw it too, and that's how I'm presenting it in the Steele story I'm writing. I think Jenna figured that out too, which is why she always tried to avoid him.

"Maybe he and Jenna were ex-boyfriend and girlfriend until Balto came along..." I like that idea but I don't think that is what the screenwriter,(David Cohen, Elana Lesser, Cliff Ruby ,Roger S.H. Schulman) had in mind, but its a great idea!

I think there's more to it than "she's the prettiest dog around". Steele had every dog in Nome except Jenna drooling all over him. Steele is the kind of guy that HAS to have ALL the attention. The simple fact that one girl in town turned him down was something he couldn't stand. I think his obcession with her has more to do with this than anthing else. The fact she liked Balto made this even more unbareable for Steele.
