I don't like them *personally*. I will not take part into the site constructing (apart from "quality validation") and maintenance. (apart from the server of course)
Still, now that there is an interface up and running well to make sites in a "easy" way, the formula can apply to many things.
The major risk is getting too many requests (if I allow CGI, then why not anime? why not stop motion? why not video games? why not Harry potter or Twilight? etc...)
Let's say this is a test and see how it works.
Who knows, in the end maybe that could indeed attract more visitors and lead them to acknowledge other kinds of films/series they wouldn't have know else. I'm only afraid of all the new visitors gathering on the CGI-films sites and not visiting the rest...

Toy Story's one of the best things to ever happen to animation
Or the worse, depending on the side of views

Of course it would have happened one day or another, no doubt on that...So...I'm just sad it wasn't a better film (FF Spirits Within for example) which showed the good example.

plus we got to many sources in my opinion..
Well there are already more projects than the current number of sites, so

How is this a problem? I don't think anything really changed much on BS since Animation Source was started (on the contrary, it had positive effects, for example the new style)
