The point of this post in so the VS team, particularly the artists, can work out our art production methods so that the art will look uniform and professional. I found this tutorial on making comics that I think will be a big help:

Copper: Step by Step

I think well probably use this method, possibly with few variations.

Here's the process so far:

  1. Scenes are divided up among the artists.
  2. JerRocks2day does any necessary concept art for OCs and test sketches for the scenes.
  3. PrtyWatrPrincess, ArChip, Zimaro and Opus then sketch the character art based on the concept art and scene sketches. Then they either ink it themselves, or hand it over to GodessOfTheWolves to be inked. (using black ink)
  4. GodessOfTheWolves digitally inks any remaining line art.
  5. The inked line art will then be colored digitally by someone. (Need someone proficient in Photoshop or equivalent program to do this job...)
  6. The inked and colored art is lettered digitally with a comic font. (Again, not sure who will do this job.)
  7. Comic pages then go up for review and any final cleanup is done.

Please post suggestions or any questions you may have. I'll update this post as necessary.

Since I'm doing rough sketches, could I get a list of the characters for the first episodes. So far, I know that Ignatz will be returning.

The Celtx file I am using really needs to be cleaned up, but I was able to get a decent list of characters. I tried to get everyone who appears in more than one scene so some minor characters are missing.

-Baloo
-Banker (the banker who forecloses on H4H) (*)
-Frankie (Griffith's henchman) (*)
-Griffith (*)
-Ignatz
-Jarrett (*)
-Kit
-Man (the nameless resident of Raceville who Baloo meets in the ticket line and later shows up at the sheriff's office) (*)
-Molly
-Officer (a CS police officer working on the Griffith case) (*)
-Perry
-Rebecca
-Sergeant (the CS police sergeant working on the Griffith case) (*)
-Shere Khan
-Sheriff (The sheriff of Raceville) (*)
-Sultan
-Thug #1 and #2 (the two thugs working for Perry) (*)
-Wildcat

Characters that don't exist in the official TS universe have marked with a (*). It would be great if someone could do a rough sketch of them. I'm curious to see what our new characters will look like!

For those unaware, Griffith is a Jackel and Jarrett is a Wolverine, just for those wanting to draw them. Griffith has 'two faces', the nice kind face he uses during a con and his true evil expression. It'd be great to see both of those. Jarrett is genuianly nasty overall, simple as that. He's dirty and wears a pilot's outfit and tapes his knuckle. He doesn't bathe unless he loses a race.

I helpped make them, so I thought since a call went out to draw them, I should help by providing discriptions.

First of all, I just thought that it's the right topic to ask this question...So...

Are the lines going to be black or will have a self-color? You know, inked lines? Just to avoid confusing xD

I looked back at the list and I realized on the third one that we need a logo for Miniversal. Any suggestions folks?

That should be somewhat based on the old Universal logo :

I was thinking something like the 90s Universal Studios theme park logo, but I'm not sure it'll fit well with the 30s/40s setting.

Perhaps the globe could also include a lightning strike in the center, with the words 'Miniversal Inc.' in front?

Or just something like that (from Whistlestop Jackson) :

Which was, coincidentally, also inspired by the old Universal logo...

I'm sorry I let this thread go so long without replying... Better late than never I guess.

Nice job on the Ignatz sketches, they're some of the best I've seen from you!

Shere Khan, and the 'Khan' artist, Perry.

I like the Shere Khan drawings and the Perry drawings! Nice Job again! Perry looks a tad shaky, but overall, lookin' good!

Yes, they're going to be black as far as I know... We're in the process of hammering out the details at the moment, so I'll get back with you soon.

Yes, but we need to order them by importance so the most pivotal ones are done first. (More on that later.)

I agree with steet that it could be based on the old universal logo.

Unfortunately, no, I haven't heard from him recently, and yes, he was doing some great stuff with airplanes... I hope he comes back and can still help.

So, sorry again for taking so long to reply.
