Do you think Aniu turned into the other animals, like the raven, the fox, the bear, and the wolverine? I think that she was all of them, but what do you think?

That means Aniu was the bear trying to kill Balto and Aleu.
Hmm. I like your theory....

Hmm. I like your theory.... If that's the case, then it's unlikely that she was actually trying to kill them. Maybe it was more like some sort of test?

I was joking about Aniu being a killer grandmother, but maybe she was coaching Aleu in some kind of way. Perhaps she was teaching Aleu how to be calm and fearless in the face of death. I think it makes sense for Aniu to be the raven and the wolverines, as they seem to know a little too much about Balto and they appear/disappear in spiritual ways. But the fox (sort of) and grizzly bear felt like separate characters to me. Anyone have a theory or explanation for them? I want to hear! I had always thought of all four of them as separate characters, but it could make sense that they're all one.

Roi Doberwolf wrote: I don't really think Aniu was teaching Aleu so much as she was Balto. Great point Roi! I had forgotten because I was thinking about how Aleu faced the bear with "inner knowing", and I assumed Aleu would need the most coaching as she was to lead the wolfpack... but then, it was Balto who solved the riddles of the other animals, and Balto who had been visited by the raven. I like the way you think.

Hmm. I like your theory.... ...and the fox that flirted with Balto. Um, hello Aniu... that's your son.

She turned into the fox...She had already warned him in the dream, now she wanted to look and see if Balto can fight back and avoid the fox tricks. He failed... I'm not sure if I explained it good, but... She just wanted to see if her son is strong enough to fight back the tricks the fox gave... That's all

Celtic Aleu wrote: Aniu was also Muru, because he disappeared into the cave wall, then at the end of Wolf Quest,Muru appears again, and lets out a howl. No, Aniu wasn't Muru. Muru was Aleu's Spirit Guide. He howled with her at the end because he loved hearing wolves sing, not because he was her grandmother xD He wasn't one of the totem animals, so there was no way he could've been Aniu.
