Ok, I needed to make this rant so here goes-
I've been looking at many image galleries, and guess what I mainly see? Renders. Ok, so I edit my setting to where I can only see their graphics (AKA NOT RENDERS. )
And they've been cheating the raito rule by editing their renders to offical character icons, or blank renders.
What annoys me the most is that some of them don't know what else to do than make renders.
(Now, I am talking about TLKS and BS, which have the most problems with this in my opinion)
If you can make renders, you can make graphics. It's really not that hard. Even the site's sketcher, (http://www.animationsource.org/lion_king/en/fanimage3/)

What do you guys think? Should the raitos for these site's more like SS's? What is it? 1 for 4 renders?) TLK's/BS's are waaaay to lax in my opinion.
Sorry if this rant is usless but I'm just tired of endless renders and needed to get this out of my system. .-.

I know how you feel. I'm so sick of seeing render after render after render. Most members say it's too hard to make graphics, so they make renders instead...Seriously? Renders in my opinion are harder to make than graphics are. Renders can take hours, when graphics can take a few minutes.

I've made THIS in 15-20 minutes.

It's not that hard to make a signature or a graphic, I've got more renders in my gallery because I like making them but I know that sometimes, I have to send some graphics.

Yeah, the SS ratio is 1:4.

I personally despise renders. Always have and always will. There's not a lot more I can say. xD

I do some renders, but I try to do more graphics. Alot of people seem to think that this is OC source. xD

PLEASE RAISE THE RATIO ON BS. I'll be one happy graphic artist.

Graphics honestly don't take that much. But I'm surprised to see people say renders take so long because they're cut and dry for me at least. This render took me like 15 minutes and this wallpaper took the same amount of time.

I personally think the ratio on BS and TLKS should be the same as it is on SS.

I'm kinda getting bored of making renders, they're so time consuming and with me, they alwasy end up looking awful cx

At the moment I'm trying to make more graphics and trying to improve my skills in making them, because there seems to be such a lack of decent graphics now and I'm getting bored of renders.

There is, but usually, there's NO graphic at all. They cheat around the raitos. These sites are more of a OC source.

Oh gee.....renders. A ratio would be helpful. 'Cause they're like a coloring book nowadays. Sure they were fine when they first appeared. But now it's a whole mess. Some people can't see when's the bottom line.

Graphics are cool. Least shows some creativity not just some tracing over a screenshot.

PS: I suggested months back to get rid of them completely 'cause they're not a part of the "Fan images", or separate them into a different category. 'Least they could be in a bit of a HQ.... Not 8-bit MS paint renders. (n/o to you guys who can actually render, but if they were .PSD versions, many people wouldn't be able to color properly, so less pictures to handle, haha.)

I think we should make the ratio like SS, so more graphics and less renders, people couldn't cheat with that, if they send a random lineart colored with balto colours and claim it as a "Balto graphic" it will simply be deactivated, that's all, so to start sending renders again they should make a decent graphic that won't hurt to their healt.
I don't think renders should be cut out, there are people who likes making them or that makes very good ones so I don't see why they should be penalized because of someone's fault that does them in a hurry and so, ruin them, I don't think it's fair. Making the ratio like SS will be a warning for them all, they will learn that the Fan Images aren't make only by coloured linearts but of graphics too.

Yeah, that's true. Hence why I said "or separate them into a different category"; but yes. Ratio works also. Same as for x amount of Balto art for non-Balto. Guess that should be fair and square.

If they're cheating and going into their gallery to change the info to get around the rule, changing the ratio won't help, even though I fully agree with it because I'm so sick of seeing renders and blank linearts now I could spit.

Maybe there's a way for Steet to block the editing of images for members so they can't change the icon features after being submitted, that only mods/admins could. It would probably make members mad, but it may be the only way to get them to stop being lazy and reduce themselves to cheating.
