This is a topic about the paranormal. It is pretty general. Tell us your stories about encounters with the paranormal. Tell us if you believe in the paranormal or not. Please try and not get too religion based and I don't want any flame wars over dissenting opinions. Just because you think there are and they think there aren't doesn't mean one of you are wrong. There is no diffinitive answer to the question of ghosts/paranormal.

Okay I'll start

Here's my encounters. I do believe in ghosts. I believe my house is haunted. I've seen and heard some pretty odd things in my home. Every now and then you hear footsteps from upstairs when I'm the only one home or my whole family is downstairs watching tv or something. I've also seen shadows move accross the hall at night when I'm the only one up and downstairs. And even one time some was thrown at me. I saw it lift up off the tv unit and fly accross the room. It defyed the laws of gravity. I've also gotten a pretty odd picture once too. In fact it is really odd. It was taken at the St. Valentine's Day Massacre site in Chicago Illinois. I have no explanation. We've taken it to professionals and they say it isn't a camera malfunction or my finger. I have no clue what it is. I really want to find out the truth to this age old questions of ghosts or no ghosts.

I don't have any amusing stories to tell, but I can say I believe 100% in the paranormal. Specially after watching "The Haunted" on animal planet xD

Well one time i was in my room and i heard my name being called and when i said "yeah" i heard a little girl giggling in my closet. I was so scared i ran across the house, tripped, and broke my arm. Two weeks later my sister heard a girl giggling in my room. Now im terrified of it.

so ya i believe 110%

Its been a week after one of my kittens died, and I swear I saw her. She had a blue aura around her. o.O

weird. Luckily, I haven't actually witnessed any ghosts, but my friend's and their families have.
One of my friends said that her mom took a tour of one of those mental places that was haunted, and she took a photo of a window, and there was a man in a window(it had 4 panes, i think). With each hand in a different one, and his face in the third or fourth. He was like, screaming to get out.
And also this girl and boy in another friend of mine's mom's room at their house. If you went in there after midnight, you suppossedly would see them playing, and then they would suddenly turn around and stare at you, and start to get closer to you.

I don't really know about ghosts too much, myself. I'm in the middle.
I haven't seen one, but I DO think that there is such thing, because of the ones that throw stuff all over the place(ummm, I forgot the name. :/)
I have read books about like, animal ghosts.
it's sort of cool to think about between death and the afterlife(if you believe in it)

O.o i just heard someone whisper my name and then i got chills.

My house has a ghost living it it. The original owner died some years ago, but it wasn't till we started doing a remodel on our house back in 05 things started going to go wrong. Like for example, we have this dresser that we have the TV on. The thing itself is very old, and the doors are always stuck shut. One day my Mom told me one of the doors opened by itself. A few days later my Mom was in her room putting thing away. She had some hangers on the bed and they scooted accost the bed onto the floor. The last thing I know of was when she went into the bathroom and pulled the shade down. When she was using the bathroom she said it slowly went back up.

Sometimes when I'm home alone it sounds like someone is walking on the roof. Or if he isn't up there, he's in the shower making the bathtub make all those weird sounds.

I have had quite a few experiences with the ghosts.

My T.V. is turning off and on but my lights aren't.. im scared!

I 100% believe in ghosts and have had two experiences:
one night I woke up at 5:00 am, no alarm, no nothing, suddenly begin to hear noises coming from the roof
(you could hear loud why I sleep in a bunk on top) after passing the noise I heard steps in corridor,
I could not sleep again (it was on Saturday 21st)
another time I was on my computer as usual and the door creaked open, I went and locked the door is open for 5 times, she just opened up when I turned back to her

Another update:
Someone from my church that works in a nursery:
On one occasion, when they were all on one side of the room, getting told a story by her, the water just turned on by itself, and was running onto the floor.
And then the overhead lights, which HAVE to be messed with a lever to open, suddenly flew open by itself. They closed it, and found that it WAS turned all the way open. There was no way that anyone in that room could have opened it because they would have required a ladder.

Here's one from Franklin Wisconsing. There is a store in Franklin and the burgulary alarm went off and when the clerk arrived in the morning everything was the way it was the night she left to go home. And this is what they caught on camera that set the alarms off:

Ehh, I have no interesting ghost stories, and quite frankly I hope it stays that way.

On a further note, my family knows the author of the book, "Weird Georgia!" and part of the "Weird America" series(I think...)

Okay, I have one. As of last night.. xD

Well, my boyfriend's gone away for the week to help his mum's boyfriend with some garage work. It's his job to get his sister up and ready for school in the morning, as his mum works from 4am. While he's been away, I've been doing it because they had no one else to do it, and I had no problem with it. Meaning I had to sleep in his room in his bed, which I had no problem with either. <3 (was awfully lonely though..)
Anyway, last night was my final night of doing it for the week (obviously), and I had the door peoperly shut. I like having it shut when I sleep. And the ghosts in his room became a bit restless, banging on things like the tv and table, making noises etc. Now I have a horrible fear of ghosts as my room at dad's house is haunted, so I freaked out and got really scared. Then my boyfriend text me (which was a relief considering I thought he was asleep), with "Text me when you wake." and I replied with "I am awake and I'm freaked out." He asked why and I told him, and he asked if the door was open so that there was a strip of light across the bed. I said it was totally shut, so he said to do it because they don't like it being closed unless there's 2 people in the bed (thank god ). So I did, and he said there was nothing to be afraid of as they were there to protect him, and thus protect me aswell. He believes one of them is his grandpa who he was really close to aswell.
They calmed down, and I was very grateful and feeling much better xD I have night fear AND I'm terrified of ghosts, so I'm just lucky he was awake x3
