Ok, I had this idea a few minutes ago in the shoutbox and I want to know what people actually think before I take it any further.

The idea is this; Having an event possibly named the "AS Scavenger Hunt" where members (you) form teams and together try and complete as many set challenges as possible, each challenge being worth a set amount of points. The team with the most points when the deadline is up wins.

The challenges would range from easy to hard. Some being just questions, others being to write a short story, draw a picture, make a graphic, make a render, make a photomanipulation, take a photo etc.
All sorts of things.

The whole idea is to simply have fun and make friends. People are often complaining they're bored or AS isn't as fun as it used to be so I figure trying to find fun new things to do is good yeah?

Of course there'd still be prizes. Quite what I don't know.
Art, graphics, feature in the site's news?
I might see if I can possibly find other things for prizes, like plastic toys or posters or something.

What I really want right now is for people to tell me what they think.
- Do you like the idea?
- Would you join in?
- Donate prizes?

The scavenger hunt sounds fun! ^^ But how do you get involved?

Well the idea would be that when the start date is announced people form their teams then. I'd probably ask Steet if a temporary board section could be made for it.

Donating prizes would simply be offering once a list started being made.

For now it's just interest gathering, for this to be worth doing a lot of members would have to be interested in joining (and actually do it).

Great idea! I would so do this.

2. Heck yeah I'd join, it'd be interesting. How would the team system work? Like the Packs?

3. I can't do anything but write, so I couldn't donate. Unless writings are good enough prizes?

Sort people into groups with people they don't normally talk to. More interesting and fun. We could have some collab parts as well.

Ansem - Sort of.

The idea would be someone would start their team topic, like "Team Awesome" and people sign up to join. There'd be a limit on how many people could join a team so that people would be forced to not all buddy up together.
No switching team members unless a member backs out because they can't participate any longer.
Then when the challenges are posted and the hunt starts the team members all work together to complete as many as possible.

Cobalt - The idea would be, as long as enough people join the hunt anyway, people would have to join in with people they don't normally talk to. People couldn't just get all their friends to join their team and be done with it. (Say someone gets their 3 friends to join their team and then says "closed for new members!" - that'd not be allowed.)

Team members could collab as much as they like but some of the challenges could be specifically collab ones too. C:

Now this is a fun idea. It would be a good way to bring new and older members together.

I think this would be awesome! Maybe set somtime in the summer, to give users more time, and I couldn't donate prizes but I would gladly join.

How would we get points exactly?

and could you also feature the artist(s) who made the prize(s) for the winner(s) on the fan news if the winner(s) are feature on the fan news? It would be a great way for lesser known artists to be noticed.

Vesperia - The points are simply tallied up by the team leader. The prizes would be announced in a site news about the hunt anyway but it'd make the news massive to show every prize at the same time as the winners.
