Hoy yal. for once im going to ask for help.. and im sure this must of been made before but i am in serious need help on drawing Female wolves.. I draw wolf anthros and wolf form, i can do well with anthro and you would be able to tell if male or female (of obvious reasons..) but for my wolf forms they always look male even if i TRY for female. I know there is a whole thing about making them smaller and skinnier and curves and eyes.. But i still struggle on drawing them.. i made one quick tablet drawing (was a quicky MS paint) but i did TRY for female and both look so male.. so i would like some help on how to do this, and just to note THIS is not to criticise my art.. this is help..

I drawn alot of anthros lately so i admit if my wolf drawings aint that good as i didnt practice much. but i gonna be working on them alot now but to do that i need to learn gender.. so heres what i done today

Ah, I see. Lemme help :3

I don't mean to critisize, but if you draw the backs of the wolves a bit straighter it will help you out a LOT. The rest is good, and I like your style, by the way, but make sure the bones (especially the spine) make sense  If you need help, look at pictures of real wolves. AND: even if you think it would look dumb if you drew according to real wolves, just try it. Believe me, I thought it would look fail-ish but it didn't

Well I just thought that would help you...

But alright, if you want to make a wolf look female, make the mane fluffier, more groomed and belly skinner, and that seems to work for me.

It's definately not the case of well groomed at all. You can't call a female wolf 'well groomed' as both male and female wolves are pretty well groomed, as they groom each other and themselves quite a bit. Also, making them thinner won't help, as when you try drawing new breeds, making a bull dog thinner would look weird xD

When drawing females, I usually make sure they aren't very bulky and muscly, I also give them very small eye lashes and make their eyes slightly more slanted. I also tend to make their paws smaller.

For females, I tend to give them softer edges, and trying to make their body more elegant looking. (with any kind of animal)

Like deigo say, slanting the eyes making paws smaller, and adding more detail to the eye help. Also making them smaller in height.

Try making your males more angular in contrast, perhaps? Or drawing them bigger than the females.

I make females look feminine by giving them more slender, curvier bodies; slightly thinner muzzles and eyelashes. Or I make them ever so slightly smaller in comparison to the males.
