*Hadn't seen a topic like this, and a post from another topic gave me the idea*
Awesome movies have awesome music! So which is your favorite? Do you have one or some? Your thoughts on any or all.
- My vote goes to Spirit! I love how much the music matches the mood of the story, and just loved them when I first heard them! ^^ Though I also have TLK soundracks (only to one and two though). Balto also has great music, and some songs from ADGTH aren't that bad 8]

I went with Lion King and Balto, because both series have awesome soundtracks. Balto gets the top vote from me, mostly due to the sheer awesomeness of the first movie's soundtrack, along with a couple song from the second movie.

It's a really tough call. I'm in a wall-o-texty mood so I'll just go over each one.
Balto: James Horner has really come a long way in composing since Balto, that's not to say that Balto 1 is a wonderful soundtrack. The problem with Balto is, while all the music is wonderful, a lot of it is pretty short and there are really only two tracks I listen to (Balto Brings the Medicine and Heritage of the Wolf.) I can't comment on Balto 3 but for Balto 2 there sure was a total lack of Native American instruments. I mean, if you're gonna go the mysticism and Native American spirituality route, at least use the instruments. The songs are cute but they pale in comparison to other animated movies.
The Lion King: The Lion King got my vote. If we're including the broadway show, they did what Balto 2 didn't and used native instruments from Africa. The music is a joy to listen to and the whole soundtrack not only does not fool you into what it's trying to portray, but it makes you feel. Laughing at Hakuna Matata, falling in love at Can You Feel the Love Tonight, and shedding a few tears during the death of Mufasa, The Lion King hits on every emotion perfectly. The Lion King 2's music is still good, but it lacks the magic the first movie had.
Princess and the Frog: Never saw it.
All Dogs Go to Heaven: If we're going by great musical numbers and not the soundtrack as a whole, ADGTH would've taken the title. The first movie had great songs that set the mood for the whole movie and managed to avoid coming across as a cheesy kiddie flick. I really can't say the same for ADGTH2. While I Will Always Be With You is a very lovely song (even though it makes no sense in the context of the relationship between Charlie and Sasha,) the rest of it is really unremarkable and corny like a half-baked Disney sequel.
Spirit: Spirit is an easy second and maybe even ties with The Lion King. Both are done by Hans Zimmer, who is exceptionally talented and had a very formidable challenge; make the music speak for the animals in a movie where the animals can't talk. He did it and did it well. The problem was that while Bryan Adams did a good job with the music and compensated wonderfully for the lack of dialogue between the animals, he totally hijacked Hans Zimmer, as there are only three tracks that don't have Adams in it. Regardless, it's a great soundtrack and is a close contender.
Talespin: Never saw it.

* Lady and the Tramp added for votes. Re-voting is on, so if you need to, feel free to do so. Sora-Kun wrote: Spirit: Spirit is an easy second and maybe even ties with The Lion King.
