Ok, you caught me, this doesn't really have much to do with the VS... I just wanted to post it here to share and to get feedback, because this is a restricted section and I didn't want everyone to be able to see this yet. I did this many months ago hoping I could somehow get the artwork for it done... but I don't really know how I could do that. I wish I had the money to just pay an artists(s) to do the art for me, but unfortunately I don't. (At least not at the moment.)
Anyway, this was supposed to be a video of Kit's first flight in his new plane. The project is a .celtx file, so you'll need Celtx to open it. [
Download it free here] And yes, the plane in the in-game screenshots on the storyboard is
Cutter's Goose from a
Tales of the Gold Monkey flight sim. Somebody actually made a
Tales of the Gold Monkey package for Flight Simulator (I think. I don't have it).
Obviously the screenshots are just placeholders, and as such, they're not exactly correct for every scene. For example, the same screenshots are used multiple times, this just means that the same background is re-used, but with a different character layer. For instance, in several screenshots the corner of a map is visible. Just imagine Kit and the appropriate expression/pose in place of the map. And also a screenshot may show the plane flying over land when the caption says it's over water, just remember the caption is my intention. I just found screenshots that are close to what I imagine the scene to look like. The same goes for Kit. I reused the picture of him many times. In this case, the view is the same, but his expression changes. Just use your imagination. The whole purpose of the screenshots is just to make sure the scenes are synced with the music.
Anyway, here's the download link:

I suggest reading the screenplay first. (Dbl-Click "Screenplay" on the menu to the left.)
The little icons throughout the text are notes. (Click the icon to jump to the associated note on the "Notes" tab on the right.)
The soundtrack can be found in the Master Catalog under "The Tempest clip" (Dbl-Click "Kit's_Flight_2.mp3" to play in your default music player.)
Check out the Storyboard and preview the reel. (Click "Storyboard" on the left and Click "Play". Set the time to one second. For a preview with music. try this awesome ghetto rig: Hit play on the music and immediately after hit play on the storyboard. A ghetto rig, but it works.

)
The Outline and Timesheet are mainly for whoever composes the video, (probably me) if this ever gets anywhere near that point. You can check them out if you want though.
So if done, this little 1m45s video (minus credits) would have at least 16 backgrounds and around 20 unique character layers. [EDIT: Actually, it's more like 41 character layers] The whole thing would be edited together with fades, cuts, pans, and multiplane camera effects. The last half of the mp3 would be credits/thanks to TS production staff/message to creators that the fans want more. (I guess.)
Just for fun, I wonder how much an artists(s) would charge me to draw all those backgrounds and character layers... Maybe I could work out an installment plan or get a loan from the bank...

Anyway... I had been sitting on this idea/project for so long... I just wanted to share it with a few more people.

(Before now, Opus, Steet, Straycloud and myself were the only ones on earth that had seen/known about this. I guess it's "burning a hole in my hard drive") It might make a good VS promotional video... if only it had something to do with the VS. The only connection with the VS I could see is a "what's possible" or a "preview of the future" or something like that...
