This show is a bit different from the other animes out there. The characters in this show are literally the personifications of all the worlds countries.
To name a few:

Alfred F. Jones (The United States of America)
Arthur Kirkland (The UK)
Matthew Williams (Canada)
Ludwig (Germany)
Honda Kiku (Japan)
Francis Bonnefoy (France)
Ivan Braginski (Russia)
Wang Yao (China)
Feliciano Vargas (Northern Italy)
Romano Vargas (Southern Italy)
Tino Vainamoinen (Finland)

Of course there are many more countries and they even take on the traits of the people who live there and some of them consider each other brothers or sisters for example Alfred Jones (USA) is the older brother of Matthew Williams (Canada). As for their traits Alfred frequently tends to stir up trouble by sticking his nose where it doesn't belong, Francis is a pretty boy who blames his countries military defeats on God. Feliciano loves pasta and pizza and when in a war he prefers to surrender.
This show is interesting and I recommend checking it out, so what do you think?

I'm totally in love with this show, I thought I would get offended when a friend told me the personality of Italy but I have to say that everything about italy in that show it's true xDD
My favourite characters are Ludwig (Germay...Doitsu <33333) and Alfred/USA but I also love Russia, UK and Fraaaaance xDD hahaha it's really amazing! and now at every history lessons in class, when I hear something like "France attacked Uk in..." I think about Francis running after Arthur to chase him xDDD

Southern Italy is definetly the best one. Ahhh pasta, so very true just ask Togo ;P

I'm a huge fan of Hetalia! It made history so much fun!
My sister and I actually put together a hetalia cosplay group with our friends, just for fun (I cosplay Romano & sometimes Belarus). We are also planning to buy the english dub when it comes out in America.
When I first heard about it, I was so afraid America was going to be some fat, lazy, slob and I was so happy when he wasn't. He's still a dork, but in an adorable (true) way and I love his excessive exercising
My favorite characters are Romano and America. I don't dislike any of the other characters though ^^

I'm a big Hetalia freak right now!
I love love totally love this manga, webcomic and anime! It makes me laugh so much. It's sooo ***** funny!
I think that people who are bashing Hetalia for "insulting history and bla bla bla" just don't get it. It's meant to be fun! I also don't really care about characters as countries, but characters as characters themselves.
I have too many favourite characters to mention, but I like almost all besides Spain, Sealand and Romano xD SuFin(SwedenXFinland) and Giripan(GreeceXJapan) are my OTPs! xDD

I'm also going to make China cosplay xD

You know, I tried watching the first five episodes of this, but it just didn't interest me. I honestly don't know how it got so popular. I'm sorry to the fans of this, but I'm hoping it becomes more interesting in the next few episodes, or I'm watching the wrong version, which I'm probably watching the right one since Saske sent me the link xD

I was the same way, the first few episodes didn't interest me, but I was bored so I kept watching. Don't worry it gets progressively more interesting, especially as you get to know all the characters ^^
Or maybe it's just not your thing *shrug*

Oh yeah, I never mentioned before that my favorite pairing is Spain X Romano
I also like America X UK and Sweden X Finland ^^

Being the weird person I'am who likes converting everything into wolves/dogs, I made a canine version of most of the characters from hetalia :3 for example, here's a dog version I made of Belarus:
