Kelsie hadn't realized that all these people she saw every day, although did not personally know, led double lives. She had never suspected that they would be involved in such things as these. And she had never expected to be dragged into this all the day the boys had discovered her talent. The day she had discovered her talent.

But she had let herself be dragged into this, a pampered city girl who never used to go out as soon as it began to get dark. Street-smarts were something she never knew, considering they were something she never had reason for.

And now, Kelsie has to learn street smarts, and fast. Because out here, its learn, or die. So you better learn fast, girl.




Kelsie was just a normal girl, living the sheltered life. She never realized what went on at night, while she slept, while she had sleepovers, while she relaxed.
Kids in her year level, or, more like, teenagers, were out competing. Top prize - being known. But the top prize comes with a price. everyone knows you, everyone tries to sabotage you.
Kelsie saw them as simple 'skater boys', with the occasional skater girl. She thought that they wasted all their time away with their bikes and scooters being idiots. But they do so much more than that.

It was any normal day, and Kelsie was sick and tired of her friends, her family, and just about everything. So, on a whim, she went down to the skate-park. With her bike. She had never really intended to try anything - she'd never done a stunt in her life, but she wanted to get away.

The boys there seemed... cold towards her. Not angry, or annoyed, just untrusting... and all eyes were on her. She knew none of these boys, her school was in another suburb, so the boys from her school went to that skate-park.
She heard what they were saying. She'd done no stunts, she was just a soft and pampered city girl. To her, this was a challenge.

Grabbing her bike, she tried a jump using one of the ramps....

and stacked it.

This embarrassed her. A lot. All the boys laughed. Sheltered, pampered city girl, they called her. she wouldn't be back.

But she was. They watched her determination, but she hadn't really ridden her bike in years. Day went by, and they assumed she'd given up, but in truth she'd simply began to practice in the morning before school, when they weren't around. Not long after, she came back. She'd gotten the basics of her bike back, the feel for it, and after only a week of practice, she was back.

Expecting another good laugh the boys watched... as she exceeded their expectations. natural talent, they called it. And so she kept on coming back, every day. Over time, they accepted her. She became one of their group, they became her friends.

Eventually, they decided they'd sheltered her long enough. They took her to a big competition - they were hosted every month, at the biggest skate park, and almost every suburbs 'gang' went to them. They were, indeed 'gangs', and each was referred to by their suburb.

And as she competed, the other teams saw her potential. They wanted her. Those she knew from school, their 'gang' including her crush, tried to coax her into their gang without her realizing it.

Slowly she was introduced into the world of the skater boys-and-girls. The gangs that wouldn't hesitate to bash each other up, went out drinking, and where street-smart meant life or death.

Balancing the time she spent with each of the two gangs, wondering which one to stay with, and all the while simply trying to stay alive - knowing that so many skaters wanted to take their new competition - her - out, Kelsie is on the brink of disaster.

eepp, I'm sorry if this seems stereotypical! Its not meant to be, this city just happens to be like that and.. well yeah its what the plot revolves around, soo.

This isn't how I think all 'skater-boy-and-girls' are like! And they have girls in the gangs, just Kelsie is the only girl in her gang.

Not to be sexist or stereotypical, but I must admit that I see more guys than girls at skate parks. And in Kelsies suburb, theres mostly boys that go to the skate-park. So, preferably male characters in Kelslies suburb, yeahthanks.
Moderate swearing allowed [eg. Crap, *****] but any worse swearing must be censored with *** [eg f***] and must not be used excessively!
Four sentences at least every post, preferably 5-6. Writers block is fine, but not constantly.

Appearance: Nathan has blonde hair, and tanned skin from being out in the sun too much. He has a scar on his lip where he once had a lip-ring ripped out, and another scar on his nose, but apart from that came out on the better side of things when it comes to accidents. He is rather tall, and has murky grey-blue eyes. his hair is always scruffy and falling over his face, and he is skinny, with lean muscles.
Personality: Head-strong and stubborn, he is, of course, a natural-born leader, but not so much that he tries to have control of everything around him or that he is in charge of. He isn't really loud, in fact quite the opposite, most of the time he prefers to observe the situation silently, but if it comes down to it he knows how to use his voice and shout.
History He had the perfect life with his father, but as life goes, his perfect life was shattered when his dad died in a car crash. He was sent to live with his mother. His mother was a drug addict, and this eventually led to her ending up with brain damage. Nathan hid this, as he knew that he would be sent to a foster home if anyone found out, which he didn't want. He looks after his mother, but spends most of his time away from his house. To Nathan, his gang is his family.

If you do get to know him, though, you'll find that he has a kind heart, but it's just been beaten up too many times and hardened.
History: Was raised with his parents, but when his parents' work got increasingly hard, they took it out on him and beat him. He ran away at age 9, and the gang took him in when they saw him skate boarding on the ramps. He became quiet and always seems cold, but really, he just has a hardened heart.
