I log into BS. I check the fan image galleries, which is my favorite section of the site. Oh look! Some people have updated! Let's see some awesome creativity!

Colored in blank render... colored in blank render... colored in blank render... colored in blank render... Kay Fedewa lineart colored like a Balto character as a Balto character loophole, at least it's different... colored in blank render... colored in blank render... colored in blank render... colored in blank render... colored in blank render... WAIT! WAIT! I THINK IT'S- nope, another colored in blank render.

Blank renders and colored in blank renders are totally taking over the BS fan image galleries. I'm now excited to see colored in DA wolf lineart it's that rampant. I get that sometimes creativity doesn't come to you that easily, art block blows, I've dealt with it myself. But having a gallery made up entirely of colored in blank renders isn't creativity, that's being lazy. Even the renderers that I look up to are filling their galleries with colored in blank renders.

I'm not saying "STOP COLORING IN BLANK RENDERS U GAIZ." I'm just saying do your own work occasionally. People who do original work are getting buried under mountains and mountains of colored in blank renders and that makes it harder to find some new fresh talent if all I see is a sea of the same render over and over again.

I'm really starting to hate renders and linearts for this reason. I'm getting so close to the point where I would rather get rid of them and go back to how the fan images section USED to be. You know, when it was actually FAN images. Desktops, sigs, wallpapers...

Maybe if we made a different ratio for fanimages. Make it even, so we could see more of what a lot of members would like to see again, and still allowing renders/linearts.

I hate this myself. I'm so SICK of seeing blank after blank after blank. Or vise versa. Render after render. I swear I'm the only member on this site to have a gallery with no render or lineart.

please take this Hopefully "new" Issue with Steet or another lead mod.

What 'other' lead mod? Lol I am lead mod of fanart/images/characters on balto source. I see no problem talking it over here. Its an issue that needs to be worked out between the mods AND members so we can reach a reasonable understanding.

yes but this issue also goes for the other sites to kinda XD i was talking about there lea dmods as well lol

True, but we can still use this forum instead of opening more. Then when we come up with a possible solution, it can affect all the sites. I invite any other fa/fi/fc section mods from the other sources to join and give their opinions.

No, I disagree. Its something that needs both sides' views and opinions. Mods AND members, as I stated before.

I don't like them too, I've only coloured two or three blank renders because I was lazy to make one myself or because I didn't have any time but liked the blank renders. STOP. I'm really tired to see gallery with a bunch of faves or that is popular but doesn't have ONE render or ONE graphic that was made by their own...I'm really tired to work hard to make a render and see that nobody comments it or that is not even see and that people with only bad coloured (yeah, most of the time, the blank renders are bad coloured) blank renders that gets all the cheers, like if they had make them themself...I like making renders and I like watching other gallery with renders and also graphics but not people that just with two or three clicks thinks that they've made the work of the year!

I'm seeing friends that works hard to make some good stuff but that they don't get a fave or a comment because they're drowning in the laaaaaast pages of the fan images...why? because the first pages are all filled (exept 1 or 2) of gallery full of blank renders coloured! I'm really getting nervous when I see this!
It's not fair for me, not fair for who really works to make up something good but has to stay under the shadows because, as it seems to be, people here likes more the blank renders' army...it's absolutely not fair...

Some of them I really like, because they're actually very good. But this is a relatively new trend. Give it time and it will die down. If there were a rule to be made about blank renders I think it'd be best to include blank renders with linearts, because that's basically what they are, really.

I agree with this here. I am not a fan of renders, and most likely won't ever make one.

If I do a render, it would be OVER my drawings, not over a screenshot.

I see those colored in blank renders EVERYWHERE. I am not a fan of them.

I like to stick with my own drawings, and always do a drawing.

If I create a new character, or update another, (which will be highly unlikely, I don't like creating hundreds of useless characters, I just like to stick with one, my fursona.) I would always draw a brand new drawing, and not render or use lineart.

I agree with Rio, blank renders is just pretty much copying somebodies work. It is no different than coloring in a coloring book. Don't get me wrong some of the renders are really nice looking. But the ones that look the best are hand drawn and colored it isn't of a screenshot. And most of the screenshots that are colored in are pathetic looking and they just look rediculous. If you are going to do a blank render at least make it look good not a bunch of random colors and designs thrown onto Balto, Jenna, Charlie, Sasha, etc... They simply don't look good, not at all.

To be honest, I do both REAL GRAPHICS and renders-
But I heard a comment, with someone who only does renders "I can't do real graphics"

Blank renders and renders really don't belong here. My opinion.
If you have no interest in doing real Balto related things, then you don't really need to post you stuff here. There's a dA for that.
