Goodafternoon everybody! Saske's speaking now.

Recently I've started to go more often on TLKS, since I created a character that is involved in a story with other friends' chars, I'm spending some time there too. I always look at the fan gallery, I enjoy watching the graphics or the nice renders there but what did I find out? That, unfortunately, many galleries have stolen artwork from famous artists or simply drawings made by them but sent in the fan images, and also (and still) bad renders, like made with Paint in less than 5 minutes.
I've also noticed that a stolen artwork (where the copyrights of the real artists are still written) was validated few days ago! A stolen drawing! Take a look:
http://www.animationsource.org/lion_king/en/view_fanimage/sinder_Kiara_And_Nala/1.html&numart=14542

I've spent half a hour to report stolen stuff, very very bad made images, non edited screenshots and drawings sent in the wrong gallry! That's ridiculous! And many deactivated things are still visible in the gallery since when you click on an image to comment it, you can look at the next images and the previous ones, that in the majority of the cases, are the deactivated ones.
Here are some exaples of what I've found and reported:
http://www.animationsource.org/lion_king/en/fanimage/wolfdog11werewolf/7420.html&deb_gall=306 (drawing)
http://www.animationsource.org/lion_king/en/fanimage/rachuw/7335.html&deb_gall=216 (gallery full of non edited screenshots)
http://www.animationsource.org/lion_king/en/fanimage/purplecrayola/7167.html&deb_gall=216 (drawings)
http://www.animationsource.org/lion_king/en/fanimage/grozdea/7444.html&deb_gall=108 (duplicate image sent, and a very bad one!)
http://www.animationsource.org/lion_king/en/fanimage/fan_du_roi_lion/12390.html&deb_gall=108 (I think this is taken from the videogame since there is the copyright of that)

http://www.animationsource.org/lion_king/en/fanimage/dark_link_enfant/7445.html&deb_gall=90 (that's one of my favourite xD an avatar stolen from GingaBoard)

http://www.animationsource.org/lion_king/en/fanimage/fizzy_girl/7435.html&deb_gall=108 (that's fantastic xD look how many stuff stolen she has! still not deleted!)

Okay, I accept that some bad renders or non edited screenshots were sent some time before the rule of "Bad images not accepted) was made but stolen stuff validated?! Drawings in the fan images validated?! I don't think this is possible and also, if I'm not wrong, the stuff reported is just deactivated, okay, I think bad renders, graphics and non edited screenies can be just deactivated but the drawings stolen from other artists shouldn't be deleted??

thanks for reading =) I think that's all xD

Those new mods on the Lion King Source be new. Give them some patience. A fair chunk of those were validated before we got the new mods anyway by the looks of it.

Hmm... it might need a looking into, but the mods are mainly busy with real life issues more it seems.

I know they're busy, I'm not saying that they have to check TLKS 24 hours a day but well, to be sure to validate the right stuff, I mean, I bet that even a new mod would know the difference between a drawing and a render xD

True. Well, they were urgently needed there. Some of the older ones might talk to them about it.

I don't get it either. We have alot of Image/art mods but most of the time, if it gets reported, it gets done.
The mods have been here on staff long enough to know what to accept and what not.
Alot has been reported (already) and not taken care of *AT THE MOMENT, IT WILL BE SOON THOUGH* so you just have to wait...
It's annoying I know, but life's not always fair.
And about the validating thing, I can't answer that. Some OLDER stuff, bad mods. HOWEVER, ANY NEW stolen stuff, SHOULDN'T be up there.

that's one of my points, I understand the old stuff thing, old mods, old rules and such but the new stolen stuff is not accettable, there was validated a character who was a son of Scar that had as face and body pic, the artwork of another artist, still with the (c)s! and it took a lot to see it not anymore on the characters!

I don't get this myself. Not is it only happening on the lionking source, but Balto source too. It might just be a combination of lazy/careless, but who knows. I myself is rather tired of seeing bad, stolen, duplicated or whatever it might be things.

yeah, I've noticed that this happens on BS too...I wanted to make another rant but since it would be a duplicate of this one, it's better if we continue here...recently I've found out that new gallery were add to the list but they're old! They have stolen stuff, Ginga stuff, bad coloured renders or just screenshots that were validated in september or in december...why do they show up now?!

Well I think artists should be able to post art withouth having a fear of it stolen. I mean no one has stolen my art yet but I am at risk too.Why don't they just use watermark on their drawings so they don't get stolen?

Not everyone knows how to make watermarks, considering the age of a lot of the members here. I don't know if we have any tutorials here on the forums on how to make them on different programs, but maybe we should if not.

As for this issue, I've noticed it as well, not just old submissions but more recent, and I'm not happy with it either. The mods here have had their jobs for a while now so I don't know how they're still getting through. Could be laziness or starting not to care, but I can't say for sure. I guess i'll have to start looking at logs every day and check what all the fa/fi/fc/question mods have been doing. I doubt it could be a glitch, but who knows.

some stolen stuff I saw, did have watermarks but were stolen aswell, not modifyed and such, just a copy and paste on the thief's computer and then, they had submit it, that's all, watermarks, copyrights, or not.
