Plot
Three race horses - their show names being Midnight Wish, Star's Maple Syrup, and Come By Me Victory - are headed to the Kentucky Derby, their trailers behind each other on the same road. But when the leading trailer gets into a car accident, the other trailers crashing into it, the drivers are left unconscious and the horses escape.
Now, out on their own and joined by another race horse, the three race horses come across a herd of mustangs. Will the herd accept and give them shelter, or chase them off their land?

Rules
1. All the standard roleplaying rules: no PPing, GMing, Mary-Sues/Gary-Stus, etc.
2. You can either be one of the three race horses or a horse from the herd.
3. Have as many characters as you can handle.
4. This board is lit/adv, so correct spelling/grammar/punctuation is required.
5. Absolutely NO swearing. This board should be able to be viewed by any age.

Setting
The herd lives in a valley surrounded by a mountain range. Some human roads cut through the mountain passes. At one end of the range, there is a thundering waterfall. Forests dot the landscape, but mostly it is just endless plains of grass. It is late spring, around May, and early in the evening. It is just after the three race horses have escaped.

Appearance: She has a coat of both black and brown, and a mane of black. She has white socks on her back legs, and a white star on her forehead.
Kin: Her mother was a breeding horse, once a racehorse, like her father. She has no memories of her father, and has no siblings.
Personality: She has a fiery personality that is put into action when racing. She is competitive on the track, which can lead to slight signs of agression, but when she isn't racing she's surprisingly calm. She is brave, and makes friends easily.She is loyal, but has her moments where she can become distant.
History: She was bred from two racehorses, and began training quickly. She soon proved to be one of the best horses there, and one of their top racers. She brought home many awards, but her motehr made sure she didn't get a swelled head. As a young foal/filly, her mother had told her about the Kentucky Derby, which she had participated in. Ever since, Sierra longed to win that race.

ooc; Very nice! Accepted. But just telling you: in your history, you say, "as a foal/colt" but the horse is female. You should change that to "as a foal/filly". Otherwise, good job!

Appearance: He has a coat and a mane of brown, and a white star on his forehead.
Kin: His mother was a famous race horse but his father, what he can remember of him, was a mustang.
Personality: brave, makes friends easily, loyal, sometimes he wants to be alone just to think about his father and mother, very kind and elegant
History: He was bred from a racehorse and a wild mustang, and began training as soon as possible to become a great racer just like his mother was. He soon proved to be one of the best horses where he was born, and one of their top racers. He brought home many awards for his mother and his team. As a young colt, his mother had told him about the Kentucky Derby, which he had participated in and won. Zeek thought he cheated his best friend out of the win because his friend was tripped at the end by a rock or something. (He never knew what truly happened.) Ever since, Zeek longed to race against his best friend in the Kentucky Derby again to prove to himself that he didn't cheat the first time he won against his friend.

Personality: Very protective of his herd but also open minded. Generally pleasant, but can be very fierce.
History: Has successfully chased off multiple cougars from the mountains. Also chased away the previous leader due to a disagreement when he was younger. Was very inexperienced when he first got the job (came to see that he acted rather rashly in chasing off the last leader), but now experience has given him wisdom.

Chelsea slowly rose to her hooves, despite the pain that shot to her head when she put pressure on them. What happened, she wondered wearily. Whatever it was, though, the chestnut filly knew she had to get out of her trailer.

Heading painfully towards the door that had opened at the crash, Chelsea wondered how she would ever get to the Kentucky Derby now. When she had heard she would be running it, she had felt ecstasy like she never had before. Now she was hurt, not just physically, but in her heart, as well. She would never fulfill her ultimate dream.

But, she thought, stepping into the bright morning light, at least she had her friends, Sierra and Zeek. That was, if they had survived the crash, also.

Dune had heard the crashing of the large, hard-skinned creatures at the mountain's pass, as had the others of his father's herd. And if they had not heard it, it had certainly been felt; the collision had sent powerful vibrations straight to their hooves. The young colt looked to the source of the crash now, noticing a reddish animal coming from one of the creatures.

The colt was beyond curious, and was itching to see what the reddish animal was. But he didn't want a scolding from his father. So, as he was sure his father knew of the crash, he trotted to him to seek permission to investigate the site.

Kin: His father was a racehorse who always pushed him hard, but he only enjoyed racing for the fun of it. He never really knew his mother.
Personality: loves to have fun, his curiosity tends to get the better of him, reckless when it comes to danger
History: He was born not really knowing his mother, only with his father. His father constantly pushed him about the races, but he didn't seem to care. His fun-loving personality drove him to ignore his father's annoying comments and to just enjoy racing.
