While the lake monster known as Nessy that supposedly lives in Loch Ness in Scotland gets all the fame. Few people known of an equally famous lake monster known as Champ, which is reported to live in Lake Champlain. Lake Champlain sits between the states of New York and Vermont, it's maximum depth is 400 ft. The creature known today as Champ was known to the Abenaki Tribe as Tatoskok. Over 300 sightings have been reported dating back to the earlier 1600's. While most people regard it as nothing more than a legend some evidence suggests that there is an animal described as looking as a Plesiosaur to live in the lake.
In 1977, Sandra Mansi took a photo that has been compared to the Famous Surgeon Photo of Nessy which was later revealed to be a hoax. But the Mansi photo has been analysed numerous times by various people and so far they have all determined that the photo wasn't hoaxed and what you see is really there.

Echolocation is used by animals like dolphins to find prey that is unseen to them kinda like sonar. No animal in Lake Champlain is known to use echolocation.
In 2008, The US Fish and Wildlife Services conducted a study of the local fish living in the lake, they found unexplainable fluctuations in certain species of fish due to an unknown X-factor. While some people believe this has nothing to do with Champ some people insist it is proof of a species of lake monster living in the lake.
I live in the state of Vermont right alongside the shores of Lake Champlain. In the twenty years I have lived here I have criss-crossed the lake numerous times either by driving over bridges or taking the ferry. I have never personally seen Champ but I do know people who have. I am convinced that there is a lake monster in Lake Champlain. What do you think?
