Hey everyone; it's me again.

I wanted to bring two ideas to the table today, as I've been lingering over them.

1. Just a suggestion when searching, can we have an option to search by category? So people that are interested in comedy can search for comedy fanfics exc.
2. My second suggestion is to change the way we rank our fanfics, and instead of using PG/R exc. base it on the way fictionratings.com do it, which is also what fanfiction.net works under (see http://www.fictionratings.com/).
3. *EDIT* I also wanted to suggest secondary themes. So say I wanted to write a romantic comedy, I would make the primary theme "Romance/Love" and the secondary theme "Comedy" (The Primary would be a priority, but the secondary is optional)

There's really not much difference that I can see, so changing the ratings system really doesn't matter to me.

However, I do love the idea of improving the search function, which, I'm afraid to say, is quite lacking on this site. Not just for the fanfics, but across the entire site as well. In addition to your idea, I was wondering if it'd be possible to add tags to submissions to aid in the search. It would be similar to how sites like DeviantArt and YouTube add tags to art/video on the site to aid in search. You just type in the keywords you want into the search bar and it will bring up all the fanfics/fanart that have those tags attached to them. It'd be another way to look for them other than just searching for the titles.

1. Good idea. We've probably got the capability now, with new server, so this could work.
2. Eh... well the current ratings system doesn't have too much explanation as it is. Fixing that would be more beneficial methinks.
3. YES. The current themes are a bit limited... perhaps we could also add a few more while we're at it.

I've got another suggestion, which could link in with idea number one - tags for fanfics, hell maybe we could even have tags for all the other sections and have a search by tag function for them as well. Would be most awesome if it properly works.
