You can't just go and contact another company and request a sequel. Main reason being is, Universal owns the rights to Balto. Second being, these company's won't listen to a fan community.

have you tried, and i am not talking about the fan comunity i'm talking about maybe one person, and then do it the other way around, would be the correct way to do it, contact universal talk to them about it they might agree, they would still get paid because they have rights to balto, if another studio was willing to create one, i'm just saying so many people are asking about it and most of them are younger, i am trying to give them a bit of hope insted of be being all morbid for them lol

Quote: it's as simple as that ...No. What does "contacting Universal" means? Who would you contact, or at least which department? Why do you think another company would be interested? The fact is, NO company is currently interested in making traditional animation anymore (except for Disney, and they're very careful about doing more right now) So what arguments would you give, to make them think they would make some profits out of it? At best, the most realistic would be for some company to make a comic book. That's what's happening with Darkwing Duck and Ducktales, being released into comics by Boom Studios (which is not part of Disney), after 20 years of nothingness! http://www.comicbookresources.com/?page ... e&id=25219(I sure hope they'll make a Talespin one too, but as realistic this could be, I know I'll be disappointed once again)

XD actuall steet even though i see your point, i'm not dis pointed at all, and to tgo just real quick i will and i will keep you posted, now back to you steet lol, it would take some time and researtch to see who to contact in universal, but as far as as finding a studio, i know of a few that might take up the chance, Rankin/Bass,Topcraft, Warner Bros. Feature Animation, Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Inc., Fox Animation Studios (not really lol), Nickelodeon Animation Studios, and serval more.
and lets all be down to earth right now, if it wasn't for the fact everyone seems so agenst a 3d animation balto movie , we could dewl into more studios as options, i know it's said 2d animation is fading but if you really love a story and characters it really should not matter XD

lol you all are only thinking about well know studio's *shakes head* while you rpoints are true most "small" studio's are willing. XD not trying is the worst thing any fan could ever do not matter what the out come looks like lol, and mostly little kids loved balto and bringing it back would draw them back, i've got the "conviencing" covered believe me. ^^ this post may be closed now because you all are saying the same thing and going in circles thank you for commenting however

You aren't the first to propose such an idea and I'm sure you won't be the last. I think you fail to realize how big an undertaking this is though. 1. What studio would you contact to attempt to buy/license the rights to Balto? (note we have no idea how much those rights even cost) 2. Who would you contact at Universal to attempt such a sale or license? (this is also assuming they would be willing to sell rights to the Balto IP which many companies wouldn't want to do) These two hurdles alone are big what ifs as it is and don't even touch upon the hundreds, maybe thousands, of smaller things need to be accomplished. This also considers that whatever studio you got to buy/license the Balto IP was willing to handle all the logistics itself. So you are posed with some very steep odds. Don't think of it as giving up so much as hitting a wall, I'm sure if rumor had it that Universal was looking to sell some of its animated movie properties we'd be all over it.

Sofiel wrote: XD i asnwered the 2 point before, is me post u above stating i knwo it going to take some research to find that out. and one i've asked people, the studio would not have to by rights, not if it was about balto alone, no aniu or jenna a cartoon involing what really happend not the fictional characters and they could hadd their own side kicks for balto, univerals own the fantasy aspects of his story, but not HIm and his History. In that case maybe you mean something like this... post1129523.html?hilit=live%20action%20balto#p1129523It's not animated but it's still something

I don't suppose there are any squillionaire Balto fans out there? I'm sure he or she wouldn't mind buying the rights, xD. Okay I'll shut up with my unhelpful input.

If anyone was going to attempt to buy the rights, it would be Acains
Is it even possible to buy the rights? Even if we could, none of us here would be rich enough.
