In a small town near the woods, things are about to get interesting as stray cats and house cats mingle. The adventurous and curious wonder from home and the scared and quiet try to stay out of thing. But everybody has to watch out for the cars and dogs. And the strays have to try and stay out of sight of the humans.

How many cats should we each have?

I'd say about five or six.

D.J. is a young tom who belongs to a large family with lots of kids. He knows how to have fun and loves to laugh. He tries to lighten up a serious situation with a joke or a chuckle. It doesn't always work. He's a very active and dare devil cat. (house cats)



Tyson escaped from the pound and grew up on the streets, never wanting to make a life in the woods. He prefers to hunt out of trash cans. He is very street smart, but also cocky and a total flirt. (stray cat)



Moon Shine was born into the family of feral cats in the woods. She is not as ruthless as some of her family, but also is not kind. She is brutally honest and is not afraid to use her claws to get her point across. (stray cat)



Abigal (better known as Gale) is a curious kitten who loves to follow the older cats around. She is sweet and naive and, though not very brave, is learning to be courageous. (house cat)



Rosie is a sweet, if sometimes stuck up house cat her doesnlt like getting dirty at all. She loves her small family life and wishes nothing more than to keep her life simple and tidy. (house cats)

(Just adding one more character. And I changed Gage's name to Tyson)

Griffin is the big brother of most of the house cats. He is untrusting of stray cats and is overprotective of his friends. He is more laid back when he is in his house or another house cat's house. He can get on the wrong side of lots of strays. (house cats)

Galaxy is an out-going young she-cat, and has long powerful legs that she takes an advantage of. She perfers to act, not react in bad situations. She is somewhat of a trouble-maker- not always knowing what to do. Born on the streets (stray cat)


Dutch is a solitaire tom-cat, perfering to be alone and not in a crowd. He hates it when he is in the spotlight, and hates Tyson more then anything else. He used to live with humans, only to abandoned. (stray cat)


Bubba is young tom- who claims to be passing threw, only he finds friends among the town cats and seems to stick around. He doesn't want to leave, but is secretly afriad he'll get driven out of the town. (recently became stray cat)


Squeakers is an adventurous tabby tom, who is very friendly. When he makes a friend, he expects to be freinds forever. But beware- Squeakers isn't afraid to use his teeth and claw. (kitty-pet)


Feather is a content she-cat, quite happy with her life. She seems quite afriad of large tom-cats, and expects tom cats to treat her carefully and to help her when shes in need. (kitty-pet)


Midnight is a dark she-cat, hiding secrets she wishes never to share. She has a small connection with the woods, and wishes to venture into the depths but does not know if she will ever come back.

Let's start!

Griffin was laying on the top step of his house's front porch, head slowly drifting to the ground. His family had recently had a new baby, and Griffin had been up with every whimper the new child made. Griffin yawned widely, sleepiness becoming overwhelming. He tucked his muzzle into his paws and drifted in and out of sleep.

D.J. leapt from the desk to the top of the book shelf, leaving to giggling toddlers pointing up at the black and white tom and trying to coax him back down to the floor. D.J. chuckled at the girls and turned his back on them, wagging his tail at them. An eruption of giggles started again and D.J. took his chance by jumping down from the shelf and shooting across the floor.

Tyson strutted across an apartnent building's roof ledge like he owned the whole town. He smirked down at the cats, dogs, and humans far below him before hopping through a window into the attic of the aparment building, where he made him home when he first got out on the streets. The attic was still used for storage, but it was big enough for D.J. to hid in and lots of forgotten furniture for him to make a home.

Moon Shine was drapped lazily across a tree branch. She swatted at a leaf that, though still gree, fell from the others. She watched it fixedly until it touched the ground.

Gale balanced clumisly on her owner's window. The ground was only about two feet from the window, and Gake stared at the grass while she debated jumping down.

Rosie rolled over in her plush, pink cat bed. She stretched out her paws and back because she had just woken up from her cat nap. She glanced around the mpty house, cocking her head while she wondered where her owners were.

Dutch trotted down the sidewalks, his orange tail held proudly in the air. His white paws pattered the ground, and soon he walked by Griffin's house. He glanced at the sleepy cat, but winced and kept on going. He didn't want friends.

Bubba jumped from roof to roof, opening his mouth to smell for food. He soon came across a home that smelled full of food, and he jumped down from the roof onto the car pulled up in its drive way. He then jumped on the ground, and peered into the window, and saw D.J. His blue eyes brightened.

Galaxy padded threw the town, her sturdy grey paws holding her weight. She looked into every window, hoping to see a cat. She walked past Tyson's window.

Feather bounded out the cat-flap of her home. She made dirt in the garden, then looked up, and happened to see Moonshine. "Hello, Moonshine!" Feather said happily.

Squeakers streatched in his garden.

Midnight lurked in her humans basement.

Griffin heard the slight sound of cats paws on the ground. He ignored it at first, but when his conscious mind finally placed the sound as another cat walking passed, Griffin's head shot up. But he was a little to late and only saw the retreating form of an orange cat. Griffin was about to call the cat, but wasn't sure of his name. Duke or Dutch or Dunn or something like that.

D.J. found refuge under the Lego table that was just low enough to the ground that the girls couldn't crawl under. He spotted Bubba in the window across the room. He smiled at the stray cat that D.J. had found a friend in lately and rushed into the kitchen and out the cat door before the two litter girls knew where he went. He trotted around to the front of the house to where Bubba was. "Heya, Bubba," the black and white tom said. "What's up?"

Tyson was hanging half of his body out of the attic window when he saw a gray she-cat walking right under his window. He leapt out the window, ran down the fire escape, jumped and slid across a dumpster, and landed right in front of the she-cat. He sat down cooly and glanced at her lazily. "Hello," he purred.

Moon Shine resisted the urge to growl at the house cat and rolled her eyes at Feather. "What do you want?" Moon asked.

Gale glanced over her shoulder, but her teenage owner was no where in sight. She jumped to the ground and landed clumsily on her feet, nearly falling over.

Rosie trotted out her cat door, bored with the empty house. She hurried across the yard to the sidewalk, rubbing off the dirt on her paws on a mailbox before continuing down the sidewalk.

"Not much." Bubba glanced back inside the house. "You don't happen to have any scraps of food, do you?"

"Oh, hello Tyson." Galaxy said calmly. "How are you today?"

"I just saw you in my housefolks garden, so I thought I'd come out and say hello!" Feather purred, not noticing Moon's bad attitude.

Midnight padded down the sidewalk.

Griffin stretched and stood up, deciding to take a walk.

"Oh, of course," D.J. said. "Just wait here." D.J. ran back into the kitchen which was, luckily, deserted. He grabbed a half eaten ham sandwhich from the table and brought it outside and gave it to Bubba. "There ya go!"

Tyson grinned at Galaxy before saying, "I'm pretty good. A little lonely, though."

"Isn't that fantastic," Moon grumbled. "I'll make a note not to come back into this garden." She got up to leave.

Gale picked herself up and trotted to the sidewalk, looking both way before crossing the street to the other sidewalk. She saw a few doors down a large brown tom that she thought was named Griffin, and padded down towards him.

Rosie stopped suddenly when she spotted the black form of Midnight coming towards her. She hurriedly sat down beside a lamp post, hoping that the grumpy female wouldn't see her.

"Thank you, DJ!" Bubba yowled and gobbled the sandwhich.

"Oh, me to." Galaxy said, twining her body around his.

"Hey, wait up!" Feather said, trotting after Moon

Midnight halted. "I know you're there." she said to Rosie.

Gale came up behind the large brown tom and shouted joyfully, "Hi!"

Griffin jumped nearly a foot in the air. He spun around with a wide-eyed surprised look on his face. "Don't do that," Griffin said to the young kitten. He didn't know her well, but knew her well enough to remember her name was Abigale.

D.J. smiled at his friend. "Anytime, dude," he said, picking up on the nickname one of the older boys was using a lot lately. He wasn't quite sure what it meant, but it was fun to say!

Tyson smiled at Galaxy and nuzzled the side of her neck. It was more flirty than affectionate. "Ya know you can always come to me when you're feeling lonely."

Moon growled and rolled her eyes, restating the urge to scratch Feather across the muzzle. Instead, Moon jumped over the fence, having to climb the last few inches because it was too high for her to completely jump over. She hoped Feather wouldn't be able to follow her.

Rosie stared at her paws, not looking at Midnight. "It's not like a was hiding from you or anything," she lied shakily.

The white tom looked back to D.J. Crums were spread across Bubba's face, so he swiped his paw scross it to clean it.

Galaxy rolled her eyes. "You're always open."

Feather looked helplessly at the fence.

Midnight just grunted.

"Oh, sorry," Gale said, stepping on her front paws in nervousness.

"It's fine," Griffin said, his heart not beating quite so fast. "No what are you doing out by yourself?"

D.J. smiled at Bubba, glad to help a friend out.

Moon smiled with satisfaction and leapt to the ground on the other side.

"Exactly," Tyson said with a purr.

"What are you all grumpy about?" Rosie asked.
