So anyway, once again this was discussed through PM. Wanna start, Wolfie? :)

Sure.

The sound of shrieking woke up Rue, along with a heavy weight suddenly landing on her. With a loud off, she sat up. Excited, grey-blue eyes met her own, making a smile light upon Rue's face, despite the early hours. "Get up Momma! Tess and Gale just got in a fight!" Maddy said, as she leapt down from the bed. Her smile now fading as the hard work of being a mother took place once more, she slid out of bed, the shrieking growing louder. Rue hurried out, Maddy leading the way eagerly.

Picking up the now crying Tess, Rue shot a scolding look at Gale, and his grey-blue eyes fell to the floor. Maddy, always the copy-cat, put her hands on her hips and imitated her mother's glare. Stroking Tess's messy, light blonde hair, she didn't notice this until Gale cried out her name. "Momma! Maddy is being a copy cat!" A sigh slipped out of RUe's mouth as she put down the sniffling Tess, who kept hold of her mother's hand.

Li whined as Kuilak held him. "He's hungry," Setsuko explained. "Let me see him." Kuilak handed their youngest son to his mother. Setsuko pulled out a bottle and let the 6-month-old child suck on it, devouring the milk quickly. Setsuko tried to keep a hold of the bottle as Li pushed at it, trying to hold it in his own small hands. "Honey, do you really think an expedition with all the kids will work out very well?" Kuilak asked. "I don't know how much Li would like...or Yuumi, for that matter." He indicated the three-year old who was playing in the corner. "Oh, they'll be fine," Setsuko reassured. "Besides, I don't think Sumi and Kya could stand to wait another year!" Natsumi was Setsuko and Kuilak's oldest child at the age of 14. Kya followed at 12, then Kanna, age 9, Misaki, 7, and of course, Yuumi and Li. Kuilak nodded. "But all of them?" He asked. "It will be hard to cope with six kids on an expedition, especially with three of them under the age of eight!" Setsuko met her husband's eyes evenly. "We've been preparing for this for months. We're not gonna back out because you got too nervous. Besides, Jaci will be there to protect us." Kuilak flinched slightly at the mention of the Blue Lion, but then relaxed. His fingers traced the three thin scars on his face, given to him cruelly by a Blue Lion when he was young. But he knew that Jaci was kind. "Alright, then," He sighed. "Come on, kids. We're leaving." A chorus of "Yay!"s sounded throughout the igloo. One voice stuck out in particular: "Finally!" Moaned Sumi. Li just clapped joyfully as Setsuko put him in the baby-pouch and tied it to her back. "Let's go," She said, and the family followed her out of camp.

Maddy, being one of the oldest at 11, looked at her mother seriously. "I wouldn't copy anyone," she protested. Gale, hating to be undettered by his twin sister, shook his head. "She always does this!" he sad, frusterated, before storming off to teh kitchen. Rue shot a firm glance at Maddy. "Stop teasing your brother like that," she said. "FIne," she said sulkily. She followed Gale into the kitchen, were the inevitable shatter of a falling plate sounded. "Whoever did it, clean it up!" Rue called out. Unfortunatly, the rambunctious behaviour of both twins was normal.

"Is Daddy gonna make breakfast?" Tess asked. Being only 7, she looked sweet and innocent. Which was thankfully how she usually acted, despite of her older siblings examples. Tariq walked out of his room, stretching, and laughing, Tess ran to him. He swung her around and held her, a smile on his still tired face. "Tess wants breakfast," Rue said. The pnly thing she could make was cereal.

Tariq smiled wider, looking as if he was finally waking up. "Do you want scrambled?" he asked, looking down at Tess. As she nodded, he walked into the kitchen. Rue followed, and sighed at the plate that still lay on the floor, shattered. "Maddy," she called. "Gale. Both of you clean up the plate."

With exaggerated sighs, Maddy's light hair was brushed back from her face impatiently. Behind her, Gale mimcked her motions, moving his hand dramatically over his dark hair. Tess laughed, and Maddy glowered as she began to clean up the fragments.

The family traveled all day in search of a resting place. The sky promptly grew dark. Li whined softly. Kuilak was now stuck carrying Yuumi, who'd practically fallen asleep on his little feet. "Mama, are we almost there?" Misaki asked, tire dripping through her voice. "I think so," Setsuko reply softly, glancing out at the darkening horizon. "It's cold out here," Kanna complained. Kya glanced at her sister, then shot at glare of desperation at her parents. It seemed that only Sumi remained unphased, barely stopping to wait was the younger children paused. "Natsumi, slow down!" Kuilak instructed. "But Dad, we could be there if we..." "No buts. Just wait for us." Sumi sighed in exasperation, plopping down unhappily in the snow to wait for everyone else.

"Gale, you should help too!" Maddy complained, stopping. Gale looked up at Rue pleadingly.

"She's right. You can do the rest," she said, brown eyes firm. With a huff, Glae quickly cleaned up the remains, and dumped them into the trash.

"There," he announced loudly. He sat down at the table, as far away from Maddy as he could get. As it was small, he wasn't very successful. Tess sat down in between her older siblings, her light hair and grey-blue eyes making her look remarkably like Angel, one of Rue's 'Aunt's' growing up.

Gale's brown eyes shot dirty or teaisng glances at Maddy whenever he could. Maddy's grey-blue eyes flashed, and she stood up. "Stop it Gale!" she said. "What did I do?" he asked innocently.

"Mo-om!" Maddy cried. Rue sighed once more as Tariq tried to stifle a gin. "Both of you. Stop it, or else you're grounded." The twins both sighed at the same time, making them shoot dirty glances at eachother, and sat down.

The sky continued to darken as the antarctic sun lowered into the horizon. It soon got to the point where nothing could be seen...absolutely nothing. Yuumi slept in Kuilak's arms. Li squirmed gently in his small blanket, shivering pathetically. Misaki and Kanna had begun to trail behind. Kya was giving her all to keep her sisters going, concern flashing in her deep blue eyes. Even Sumi had slowed down, keeping his stormy gray gaze ahead of him, though in this darkness, he couldn't really focus on anything. "Kuilak, we have to stop here. We don't have any other choice," Setsuko begged, sickening worry for her family building up inside. Jaci yowled in agreement. As a Blue Lion, he could still see fine and the cold didn't bother him. But he knew that humans weren't the same, and though he had never had his own cubs, he knew that his owner's younger children needed rest. Kuilak didn't argue. "OK," He said, slowing to a stop.

Rue saw Tariq's grin and hit his arm lightly. "Next time, you try and break it up," she said. Tariq's smile widened, grey-blue eyes flashing. "I think that's a job better suited for Mom," he said, voice light and teasing. "I hope they don't kiss," she heard Gale mutter, and pictured him rolling his eyes, disgusted at the thought. "I do," Maddy said, always willing to argue with her twin.

Setsuko and Kuilak dug a small dent in the thick snow. "Come on, children," Setsuko invited. "It's better you sleep in here." No one complained; they simply followed their parents into the dent. Yuumi stirred. "Stay close," He murmured in his toddler-accent. Setsuko smiled gently. Wise beyond his years, young Yuumi was. The family huddled together in the dark, youngest members in the center, anxiously awaiting the dawn.

"Food's ready!" Tariq announced.

"Finally!" Gale said, as a plate was passed in front of him. Rue and Tariq sat at the table with the rest of the family, and they all downed their loaded plates quickly. "Can I have more?" Tess asked. Rue shook her head. "Nope, sorry sweetie." she said.

"Why not?" Tess asked.

"You've had enough," Rue replied, and began gathering up dirty plates. She dumped them in their already full sink. She would wash them later. "Now, let's go outside," she suggested.

"Okay!" Maddy said enthusiastically. The twins both got up and rushed out the door, pushing each other the whole way. Tess waited until TAriq picked her up, then they all walked outside together. Maddy and Gale had already spread their unique wings, and were squabbling once more. "Break it up!" Rue said, spreading her own tawny wings. Tariq put Tess down, and spread his own wings. Tess followed her family's lead, her wings tiny in comparison to her parents.

Maddy broke away from the scuffle and leapt into the air. Gale soon followed, along with Rue Tariq, and Tess.

Setsuko tried to sleep through the cold. Suddenly, she heard a sound...a bit like flapping. Wait, flapping? She sat up, leaving the warmth of her family. Kuilak sensed her movement and roused. "What's wrong, Setsuko?" He asked. His voice was drowsy, but it was impossible to miss the caring intertwined in his tone. Setsuko seemed as if she hadn't heard for a moment. Then she replied. "I thought I heard something..." She murmured. Kuilak tensed. "Danger?" "No, something more like...flapping."

"I'm cold," Tess said, wrapping her arms around herself. "I am too," Maddy said. "Is it supposed to be snowy?" Gale asked, peering at the ground.

Rue's eyes narrowed in confusion, and she focused chocolate brown eyes onto the ground. "Let's land," Tariq said. Rue nodded. "Okay, going down then." She began a dive the rest of them following. TO anyone on the ground, they were five black forms.

The land around the family seemed to warm up, the snow melting. Setsuko and Kuilak seemed to forget that there ever was snow; the kids slept right through it. Setsuko pulled off her parka. Kuilak followed promptly. "Stay with the kids," Setsuko ordered promptly. "I'm gonna go check out that sound." Before Kuilak could argue, she bolted off in the direction of the noise. Eyes narrowed, Kuilak began to wake the children, except for Li, who he strapped to his back like he'd seen Setsuko do countless times. "Gee, it's warm here!" Kanna commented. "Dad, why are you waking us up?" Sumi inquired, confusion dripping through his voice. "We're going to follow your mother," Kuilak muttered. Misaki pulled her own parka off. "Misaki, what are you doing?" Kya hissed. "You'll freeze!" "No I won't. Besides, Dad's not wearing his." Kya opened her mouth to argue, but closed it again when she noticed that her sister was right about both things. She sighed and pulled off her own fluffy coat. Kuilak glanced at Jaci. He gazed into the Blue Lion's eyes, something he did not do often. "Find Setsuko," He said, his voice almost a whisper. At once, Jaci bounded in the direction in which Setsuko had left.

Rue alighted on the damp ground. The snow had melted just as they were a few feet away, leaving Rue confused, brown eyes narrowed. Tess slipped her hand into her mother's, and clung to it. Maddy and Gale weren't fighting for once. "Why did we land?" Gale asked, voicing all of the children's wonder. "I wanted to keep flying," Maddy complained, taking up her regular routine. "We'll fly more later Maddy," Rue assured her irritated daughter.

A rustling sound made Rue cock her head, and tense. Tess looked puzzled, and Tariq stepped closer to Maddy and Gale. It sounded to big to be an animal, so the only other thing it could be was another person. Or a bear. Rue saw Taariq tuck in his wings, and followed his lead. Maddy and Gale did the same as their parents, noting their intent expressions. Tess left her's out, slightly folded.

Setsuko wandered around in the darkness for a while. Dawn came, but it came slowly. Light slowly filtered back into the sky. At last, Setsuko was again able to get a look at her surroundings. But much to her confusion, the antarctic snowy mounds of snow and bleak gray sky were absent; rather, soft grass coated the ground. A few trees stretched their branches into an indigo sky, whose hue lightened as the sun lifted itself higher. For a moment, Setsuko felt a pang of worry. Were her children still lost in the snow? How were they? She tried to push the thought aside. They'll be fine with Kuilak, she thought. He's an able father. She continued in the direction that the sounds had come from...which had seemed to stop. But as she turned around a tree, she found herself staring into a pair of deep brown eyes.
