Just a little loop-hole that's always made me laugh that I'm sure other's have thought about.
Well, we all know that Itchy is living with Anne Marie at the end of the first movie. Then in the second film, Itchy dies fairly close to the beginning of the movie, right? Well, if the first movie took place in the late 1930s (is it 1939? I can't recall), and the second movie (what looks to be) set in the current time of the film release (or at least near they year of 1996), Itchy has got to be at least 50 years old by the time he dies, XD. I don't know, maybe just heaven has a long waiting list, XP.
It's just a mere look at the movies in comparison. I understand that the sequel was made to appeal to the kids of 1996, but it's fun to look at these things. Any thoughts on the matter, XD? Oh, and if this has already been discussed in the depths of another topic, feel free to point it out and lock this, ^_^.

Yeah, I've started to wonder about that too. Maybe going between heaven and earth in those movies causes some kind of weird time distortion that causes you to skip a few decades?

I just think that the writers of the movie made a little boo boo. xD. Since it wasn't the original writers honestly I think they just didn't think about the time differance. Another theory maybe Itchy spent like 40 years in heavan with Charl... No wait that couldn't be it since when they left heavan Itchy said, "I just got here." So that theory is out the window. Honestly I just think it was a writers mistake.

While you're definitely right that he must have been really old, it's a children's movie, so who cares? Balto seemed too old to be on another adventure in the third movie, but children are more than likely to just watch the doggy go across the screen than worry if he's going to break a hip. xD

So that theory is out the window. Maybe Itchy had so much fun in heaven that he felt like he just got there. Remember 40-50 years isn't even a fragment of eternity.

Actually I heard a good theory mentioned once. The person said that maybe time goes much faster on earth than it does in Heaven. So Itchy would've arrived in Heaven maybe about in the 40s, and the few minutes he's there, time goes by so fast that when they leave Heaven, it's modern-day.

It would make more sense it was the other way around.. That Heaven is actually faster then modern Day times.. but still... That doesn't explain how their Origin is in fact Orlando and their in San Fransisco. The only way that would be possible is If Charlie met Itchy in San Fransisco then ran away with Itchy to Orlando and set up a business there with Carface.. but that still leaves the time gap.. The writers couldn't possibly have over looked such a big blunder.. Not to mention 1 human year is 7 dog years theory. .which puts an addition to the original years on Itchy's head 250-280 years old Itchy (not even humans live that long.) I think the writers didn't do it by "mistake" They purposely Neglected it and turned the movie to a quick hard cash is more like it

First off their origin is not Orlando, it's New Orleans. Second, the movie explains why they're in San Francisco! When Gabrielle's horn falls to earth it falls in San Francisco, so Annabelle sends Charlie and Itchy to San Francisco to get it. Anyone that has seen the movie knows that.

Well, if you're speaking in technical terms, there's always purgatory. *shrug*

Moki Hunter wrote: Well, if you're speaking in technical terms, there's always purgatory. *shrug* There was no mention of purgatory in All Dogs go to Heaven either. If anyone should have had to go there, I would think it was Charlie on his second round. And since we are bringing in a doctrine discussed in the real world into the fictional setting anyway, we might as well consider research; I've been reading up of near-death experiences for years, and although I have found numerous cases both of visits to Heaven and to Hell (i.e. someone was in the afterlife for a short time before they were revived via CPR or defibrillation), I have never heard of anyone being to purgatory and living to tell the tale.

Well, I was just pitching an idea. Speaking figuratively. I know there was no mention in the movie, but if you were really analyzing it, there's always the possibility that they could have thought of that even if it didn't make it into the move.
