Personally, I think Kopa was killed while exploring the Pride Lands. NOT by Zira, though. Many things could have happened, he could have been killed by a rogue lion or hyenas, perhaps accidently if he got caught in a herd of animals and trampled.. He could have drowned, been bitten by a snake, or eaten by a crocodile, etc.

So I believe that Kopas death is part of the reason Simba is so overprotective of Kiara: He doesn`t want to lose another cub.

I think Zira attacked him, but he survived, so he ran away and met Mheetu, Nala's little brother. Mheetu took care of Kopa and raised him, and Kopa returned to the Pridelands after Simba's Pride. :cat:

Actually he is real.
He's an official Disney Lion King character. The cub at the end of TLK one was Kopa and this is proved by the book series "Six New Adventures" which were released not long after the first movie and had stories about Kopa and his life as a cub.

On-topic:
Personally, I prefer to think he left.
The popular opinion is that he was killed, either by Zira or by an accident, but my personal opinion would be that he left the Pridelands as a teen/young lion to be a rogue for some time and have new experiences, feeling he wasn't ready to follow his father.

And what would your reasoning be that Zira wouldn't be able to "do something like that" (killing Kopa)? In case you have forgotten, she wanted to kill Simba. Seems to me she'd definitely be able to "do something like that". And considering Kopa was never in the movies you don't know if Simba was overprotective of Kopa as he is with Kiara in the sequel.

Because if Zira killed Kopa, Simba would shatter her entire pack into pieces.

EXACLY...kopa was totaly protected by simba..and after all zira wold never kill a kid..or...she wold?

He got ignored by all the film makers, that's what happened to him. ^^ And I don't wonder why--after all he wasn't created by Disney and especially not by the films makers, so why should they want him to be in their films.

NO that is NOT what happend to him ! he was not the cub at the end of the lion king hence , the flim maker's said this on the VHS's auto commentary , '' let's just end on FLUFFY .
