Dominico was an American Pit Bull Terrier trained in the dog fighting world. His mother was a female that fought and bred, and once gave birth to litter, returned to the pit. His father was always trying to break free, but his attempts weren't appreciated by the master. His father was hanged after attempting to escape a third time. His mother was killed during a match by a Dogo Argentino, another fighting breed. His siblings weren't strong enough to survive starvation, and soon died. But Dominico showed endurance, and a high tolerance of pain, above breed average. This landed him in a world he didn't want: the dog fighting world. This world tested his mental and physical limits, but everyday, despite being starved, it made him stronger. Join Dominico on a quest into uncertainty, betrayal, and freedom as you read this piece. May it open your eyes the dog fighting world and its illegal cruelty. And may it make you want to learn more and help these dogs and end the deed, not the breeds.



I'm emotionally dead. Drained. Tired of life. I've had better days, but I can't remember when those were. They were too long ago. With every day I grow weaker, but my mind grows stronger. One day I hope to live free, or at least live away from this endless nightmare. One day I hope to break free. This life, at least that's what I think it is. It isn't worth living if everything I love is gone, and I get no response from the one who makes me live like this. I succeed and succeed but nothing seems to work. This isn't the life for me. I wasn't meant to become like this. At this point, it'll take a miracle or even death to set me free.

Thanks! I'm hoping it'll make an impact on viewers, because I'm passionate about Pit Bulls, and their reputation(as well as breeds of similar looks and uses) is horrible. Dog fighting is a cruel "sport", and I'm hoping that using crucial facts in dog fighting(starving the dogs, killing them if they don't fight) will open people's eyes even more.

Wow this is awesome! It's a bit sad so far, but that's good for this type of fanfic. It's supposed to make people interested in helping pit bulls, right? I agree that pit bulls are totally misunderstood. I saw a special on AnimalPlanet, once, that said pit bulls aren't naturally (born) agressive, but they are the type of breed that 'likes to please'. So when they are fighting against other dogs, when they win, and the owner gives them praise, they become aggressive because they are 'pleasing' the owners.

Thanks! And yes, that's the point! To show the viewers that these dogs are just doing what they were bred to do(Pit Bulls were game dogs, used in bull fighting, I believe). And that they are just doing what they were taught was right.

And yes, the nature of the fan fiction is emotional and saddening, but it'll fit with the characters and the moral of the story.

As You Know, I'm a BIG pitbull fan. This also Put in the harsh reality of The dog fighting world. Its not all Glamourous champions as so many people who wriht about fighting dogs seem to think it is. I also like the fact you've used real fighting breeds (Not some random collie cross). Its a brilliant emotional story and I cant wait for more ^^

Thanks Wolfie. I'd kinda figured you'd like it. And yes, I've seen people writing about dog fighting, but the sad fact is they've never even done any research on what it's like when a dog is in this world. Maybe they know its called a pit and two dogs fight each other, but that's it. They don't realize that the winner doesn't get a steak or treat. The winning dog gets to live for another day, that's its prize.

They don't realize they starve the dogs or bait them with other dogs, to train them. And they use breeds that would NEVER be used in dog fighting, collies and huskies(very very rarely will you see a husky in a dog fighting picture; an Akita, maybe, but never a collie or husky). Pit Bulls, Presa Canarios, Dogo Argentinos, powerful breeds used as game dogs back in the day when they were created. But a Collie? That's like asking an ant to fight a toothpick, and the toothpick wins. Pit Bulls and other Bully Breeds(except from short, stocky bull dogs) have a high pain tolerance and a high eager to please, so they're used for dog fighting because they were bred as game dogs, hunting and killing, and Pit Bulls, for bull fighting(I'm pretty sure that's the origin of the name).
