This town ain’t for a good girl. And Haley is about to figure that out.

Fernvalley may be a small town in the middle of nowhere, surrounded by forests and meadows, but not everyone here plays by the rules. Haley must move into her aunt’s ranch when her parents have to go to Europe for the summer because of their company. Haley, upset at having to leave behind her friends all summer, goes to Northern California with reluctance. She plans on reading her summer books and working on book reports, but she is soon whisked away on a crazy adventure.

It all starts with the stable-hand at the ranch that takes Haley to one of many parties. After that, she finds herself jumping the fences of her aunt’s fields while riding bareback to get away from her aunt’s strict rules. Her books lay unread and her papers unwritten. And although she misses home, Haley can’t ever imagine leaving this new life, no matter how many enemies she’s made and how many life-threatening situations she’s found herself in. And if things are bad now, just remember that summer has just begun.

She can have a very rebellious side when pushed too far. She can not be hurt easily, but she also does not trust very easily or let anyone in. She is very pessimistic and sarcastic, but doesn’t mean harm by what she says.
Past History: Hale is the only daughter of two working parents, but she did not get ignored at all in her house. She was adored by both of her parents since the day she was born so long as she kept her grades up and made friends with the right kind of people. She had been practically told how her life was going to be, and she just had to go along with it. She was never good friends with the people she hung out with and had to deal with things by herself without anyone to talk to.
Brief Recent History: Her parents, who own their own furniture designing and selling company, had to go to Europe to sell their stock. Haley has gone to live with her mother’s sister for the summer, which she felt more uncomfortable about than sad for. At the start of the rp, she will be arriving for her first day at the ranch.

Past History: Sandy and her sister Sunny were small town girls, but Sunny was the one with the grades and the popularity and Sandy was left with the back-alley parties. Sandy and Sunny never got along much, mostly because Sandy hated living under her older sister’s shadow. Sunny was the first to get a well-paying job, a husband, and a daughter. Things became worse between the sisters when Sandy’s marriage fell apart.
Brief Recent History: Sandy is reluctant to take in her niece, even if it is only for the summer. She feels a small anger toward Haley because Sandy sees so much of Sunny in Haley. Sandy is just trying to convince herself that it won’t be that bad at least she’ll have some extra help around the ranch.

Past History: Lacy was the spoiled only child of ridiculously rich parents who earned all their money through inheritance and her father’s full-time job. Lacy and her mother spent most of their time doing each other’s hair and going shopping and other best friends things. When her father’s job was going downhill, Lacy got him upset on the wrong day. He wanted her to learn responsibility and other ‘useless’ things. He got her a job an hour up north and sent her there with her grandparents.
Brief Recent History: Lacy had been in Fernvalley for the last school year and has made quite the name for herself, mostly because of the amount of boy’s she been with. She goes to as many parties as she can, but her grandfather personally drives her to her summer job as a waitress in the local diner. She hope that she’ll be home be the end of the summer.

Past History: Amy is the youngest of a family of five. She is also the only girl. Her mother tried to get Amy to grow up into a pink, frilly, high-heels kind of girl, but she ended up with a tattooed tomboy. Amy is the only one of the kids left in the house because all her brothers went off to college. She has always been closer to her father than her mother, and the mother and daughter’s relationship is constantly strained, especially after the tattoos Amy gets when she is sixteen.
Brief Recent History: Things have been the same in the house hold. Amy has been spending more and more night at friends’ houses or just out in the streets because of her bad relationship with her mother.

Brief Recent History: He needed a job to support his sick mom and 5-year-old sister, so he accepted a position as a stableboy for Haley's aunt. He used to have a horse, but had to sell it to pay for his mom's medical bill, so he loves being around horses and knows how to handle them very well.

That's what I mean. Can I create a character that befriends Haley when she gets to Northern California, and follows her?

She doesn't actually go anywhere. What I mean is that she escapes from her aunt's house, but she doesn't run away. She comes back. At least, that's the plan for now. But you can make a character that befriends her. But Haley isn't going anywhere.

Brief Recent History: Shay is searching for a job, trying to make herself not be such a burden to her foster mom. She can't find one, so instead busies herself with work around the house. Occasionally, she does stop the ritual of chores and has fun.
