Yep, a new Free Willy film after many years since the last one. The plot is Willy ends up in the cove of a theme park called Pirate's Cove, and the animal rescue won't take him into the sea unless his pod is found. The owner's grandaughter (Bindy Irwin) decides to help the whale return to his pod as his health deteriates in captivity. Here's the trailer:

I think it'll be a good film, I mean if Bindy is as good a performer as her dad, she'll steal the show.

No need to sound offensive. But I do feel this could ruin the Free Willy series. I mean, I don't think it should be called Free Willy. I mean Keiko, who made Willy is dead and no one can replace the magic he created. Also, that orca looks like it's half of the side Keiko was and it's dorsal isn't flipped. They should call it something else...

But I do think I will watch it. As it looks like it could be a nice movie, but it will never be Willy for me :/

Ok, after having a discussion with my Dad about it all. I have changed my mind a bit. Sure, this whale won't be able to capture the magic that Keiko did. But it could be to keep Willy's memory going and in honor of Keiko. After thinking this through, I think it may turn out to be a nice movie!

It might be meant to be one of Willy's descendents, not the original whale, he did have a son in the third film. Also, found out this will be released on DVD and Blu-Ray on March 23...no theater release though...sad.

Well, if I can find that DVD in stores here in Norway I will get it. And you're right. It could be his lil' baby!
