What is your favorite food that is only found from where you are from?
For me its Italian Beef, I'm from Chicago and I absolutley love it. For those of you who don't know what an italian beef is. It is a sandwich with thinly sliced beef that is cooked in a very thin well seasoned gravy. Top it with giardinerra, peppers, and mozzerella cheese. This is my favorite food, I want one now just thinking of it. If you ever come to Chicago first restaurant I recommend is Al's Italian Beef, the original italian beef.

I'm from Seattle, Washington, and we have a melting pot of different cultures here, the majority of them Asian.
I'd have to say that my favorite food would be (sushi) rolls. You can get them in dozens of varieties, but my two favorites are Spider rolls, and smoked salmon rolls. And yeah, thinking about them makes me hungry too. XD
EDIT: Sushi is found all around the country, but so far, the best sushi I've had was here in the Pacific Northwest.

What we have in New York City is well-stacked pizza. Not too Greasy, not too sloppy, but fresh. However, not all of them are like that. The frankfuters style is most commonly mustard and sauerkraut.

Pretty much the exact opposite from Chicago, with the deep dish pizza and the hotdogs that are dragged through the garden, with mustard, pickle relish, pickle spear, onions, and peppers.

http://www.gibsonsgrill.com End of story, amazing food that is FREE because my uncle is the executive chef. look for this place to maybe be featured in an upcoming episode of Diners, Drive Ins and Dives on the Food Network at some point, maybe you'll see me on national TV when that airs if it actually happens.

Togo wrote: Spiedo and polenta. It's a local food from an Italian city called Brescia, and the others don't know about it. I still have to find a person who didn't say it's one of the best foods ever, it's so awesome it can't even be compared to anything else. Basically it's composed by different types of meat, cooked for 4-5 hours with butter and sage. Here's what it looks like: http://www.lonardi.net/fotoalbum/bandit ... C_2320.JPGIt usually goes with polenta. Again it's very hard to descibe it, as nothing like that exists outside my city. Well, if you come here, make sure to try them! Wow, that looks, tasty... now I want to try it...but I can't... it's a picture...why taunt me with food? There's this local restaraunt( I forgot the name) it has the best steak I've ever tasted, juicy, not too hard.seasoned well- I'm making myself hungry.

Seen some really good places.
I have a few more to add: There is a Mexican restaurant in my hometown of Lake in the Hills that if you didn't know about you wouldn't go to it called Tacos el Norte the best Mexican food EVER.

That's reminds me of a junkyard style, however, that is good stuff, though.

This is making me hungry.
Well, here in my hometown, there's a diner called Seville Diner, and I have to say they have some of the BEST burgers I've ever had! These aren't your typical burgers: they're at least the size of a coffee saucer(plate)! They're known for just those burgers.

Daddy o's dinner. I's a 50's style inspired restaurant. The food is cooked in a 50's style. Great restaurant.
