Animation Source Forums

So is anyone else getting annoyed with the seemingly 'thousands' of Roleplays open? I don't know how active they are, but do you honestly need to be in THAT many? And they just flood the 'active topics'.
I myself like to RP, but I'm only in three or so. Not a hundred. -.-
If you're in more than ten or so (that are NOT dead, then I feel bad for you for being so bored with life 8/)
Now I sound like I'm ranting, but give me a chance:

Many of the RPs are private. Before when I'd go to see what is active and join in the discussions, I'd get good topics coming up. People chatting about actual Balto and Animation source related things. Now however...

Look at this!

Out of the random eleven visible topics that I scrolled a little down the page to, nine of them are private RPs!!

So here is where I mention my suggestion. If possible, can any of the mods, or Steet even, make it happen so that Private RPs don't show up in the 'active topics'? There's just no point to them being there. They take up WAY to much space (as demonstrated), and all you need to see if the other person replied is 'view your topics' (which is just a small hand motion away, at the top the page too!).
I probably made this sound more angry than I actually am. It really does bother me though. I think this would make the forums LESS RP related (which is all I'm seeing lately), and draw more attention to the topics about the movies/shows.

THANK YOU! Whenever I feel like joining a new public RP, I click on active topics. Now, all is see are private rp's! ARG it's so annoying!

Anyway, yeah... I was going to make this a rant about why there's so many RPs (mostly private),
but then I thought I'd sound a bit like a hypocrite since I'm in like four myself.
So I hope Steet or one of the Mods at least read my suggestion and consider if it's possible.
If not, I hope something can be done
The forums are for discussions about a wide variety of things along with the movies/shows themselves, not just roleplays.

I feel kind of embarrassed that six of those are mine...heh heh.

Maybe there should just be different sections, instead of not making private role-plays not show up at all. Some of them are fun to read, and it's nice to know when someone has posted something new.

But yeah, I tried to 'bar' stuff out for privacy or what ever, but I guess it wasn't big enough. Hope it doesn't bother people. ^^;

True, but that's when they should just go to the Private RPs section.

You know "Active" Topics are popular MUCH replied to topics.. and RPs always fall under that category...

I wish there was a way to bypass them so people see REAL active topics instead of RPs we don't care about. lol (unless they are our own.)

This has been bothering me for a long time, I'm glad you brought it up. I'm not sure if it's possible to "remove" a certain section of topics (in this case, private rps) unless you were to code something into the forum, which steet really doesn't like to do unless he has to. I have a phpBB forum like this one, and I've never found any option to exclude sections from the active topics. Maybe some coding /would/ work, I've never attempted something like that.

I find it very annoying as well. (Even though one of those sometimes is mine!) But maybe we could make it to where we could search a forum's active topic.
Like, "Other --> Active Topics?"

Well I thought it wasn't possible, but I just found out that it IS. Sorry for not making the change earlier, but I really thought that was not possible.
Anyway, I have removed the General and Balto private roleplaying from the active list.
