"I'm coming," Kali replied,stepping onto the specialized hoverboard. It stayed rock solid under her feet, unlike the city hoverboards that bounced as the adjusted to you weight. She shifted the bag on her shoulders. "So, are we going or what?" she asked after a moment, raising one eyebrow. SHe coaxed the hoverboard to float beside Emery's.

Zane stayed silent in the bushes, struggling to keep his breaths as silent as possible.

Kali caught up with Emery. "I'm not scared Emery-la!" she said. "Not as much as you are anyways," she said, now grinning. She tipped her board forward, shooting past Emery playfully.

Zane stayed on the ground, using the shrubs as cover as he followed Emery and Kali.

"Way more icy than the Ugly days.," Kali agreed. She let out a startled breath as a wave of cold water washed over her. They were over the river. "Talk about icy-making!" she exclaimed, her sopping hair streaming out behind her, her eyes shining.

Kali laughed, cold and wet but everything sharp and in focus. Nothing like being a pretty. Everything was so...hazy then. Being Special was so much better. She skimmed the rapids, tilting her board so she sent up another spray of water that hit Emery, soaking her even more.

"Emery-la? Something wrong?" Kali asked, slowing her board slightly to hover alongside her friend. "Your not very icy right now," she noted, laying a hand on Emery's arm. She looked at Emery with inquisitive deep green eyes.
