The Dead Space and Left 4 Dead series are in a long line of survivor horror games released within the past few years. Both series have been hugely succesfull in their own ways. But the question begs which one do you think is better?


In my opinion Dead Space is the best of the two. The sheer amount of backstory, characters, settings, weapons, sets it apart from Left 4 Dead. The plot for Dead Space is that a emergency maintence team has been dispatched to re-establish contact with a deep space mining ship called the USG Ishimura, for those of us who have played it we know the ship has been overrunned by zombies. But the main reason Dead Space is the better of the two it not only takes place in the future but the weapons and settings are like nothing we have ever seen. The theme for Left 4 Dead has been done over and over again. Survivors of a zombie infection ban together to survive. This sounds like Resident Evil and Dawn of the Dead. Dead Space sets this apart even though you fight to survive on the Ishimura the backstory adds to a large universe that few games have these days. Plus Dead Space has already spawned a prequel called Dead Space Extraction for the Wii system and a upcoming sequel set to be released in 2010. Also a movie is being produced to bridge the gap between the original game and the sequel.

I found it more fun to play/watch dead space, and I like the series more; but I have to vote for Left 4 Dead because while I may not find it as fun it does have an okay online and more people can play it at a time.

I have never really played any game on Xbox live

my friend played dead space and it was long and insane, but i never played left 4 dead because i don't have 360. that game reminds of a movie, but similarities to it, though.

Pullman- It does make it obvious to be a movie with the way they act in cutscenes (intro since thats the only thing they did -.-) and the posters when you load the game. but i find it fun either way

Well you compared two games which are different on a obvious level:

Left 4 dead 1 & 2 Is Recommended for Co-op Online. Its built for online play, This is fun cause this is one of the few games when you can not be a hero, you run of and be a hero? Your gonna die. You need teammates and that what makes this fun cause you can enjoy playing with your friends and really start finally asking them "Come help me" Instead of in other games its "Il go this way alone". SO its fun to play a game when you NEED help instead of able to solo yaself.

Dead space i have no played alot (cause frankly it scared me o.o) but i seen some of gameplay and watched a full lets play walkthrough and i must say its a fun game but its Single player only, Aliens to kill and you gotta stop each body incase they will come alive again when you turn ya back. Its a fun game but i have lil to say about it cause its basicly like any other survival horror game. This one looks quite fun though and i can tell it has alot of fans

But heres the quick thing

Left 4 Dead - Zombies,Mutiplayer only,annoying but also fun
Dead Space - Aliens,Single Player only,Scary,tense but you enjoy playing it

Thats my lil thing. So its quite easy would you play with friends or alone. Fight zombies or aliens? Me? I choose left 4 dead cause thats such a fun game. and the second one is alot more fun then the first and i enjoy it

Tip for all L4D fans: Dont try hug a witch or give it ice cream.. *has been torn up badly with half missing clothes and missing arm and blooded* it dont end well..

I possibly can not compare the two games to one another.

For the starters Dead Space happens in a far future while Left 4 Dead happens around Modern time.

Dead Space is a primary a Singleplayer game where L4D is more focused on online gameplay like most valve's games.

As Dead Space IS a Singleplayer game which follows a Steady Storyline it of course has history, background story and so on while L4D has a Short Background story which is similar to Dawn of The Dead. Something happens, people get infected and begun to hammer survivors and your mission is to survive from Point A To Point B. Working as a Team of course.

Left 4 Dead literally means map running.

One Campaign is usually 3 levels with similarities. Level 1. Short quick run from First safe house to another. Level 2 Harder, contains usually some sort of a 'hold the line' type of a trigger when you either have to lay down a bridge, open a door or drop a obstacle down or RUN it down with a car causing massive ammount of zombies rushin out to beat ya to death.
Level 3 The finale. The hardest, hold the front for 15 minutes against endless waves of zombies and special infected and then hop on the arriving rescuer was it a military APC, Fishing boat or a helicopter or an aircraft and vola Campaign finished.

It is awsome game when you have 4 players playing with you without those players its painful to play.

I suppose Dead Space is similar to most FPS games. You move constantly in a pipe and activate triggers that cause something fun and shoot the badguys until they die with various weapons that varies from pistol to assault rifle and from assault rifle to a sniper rifle and then to the ultimate rocket launcher...that's my thought about it.
