okay, I'll bite. Here's the setup of the computer I use most often for visiting this site. It's a Compaq EvoN610C laptop with port replicator and cooling board, with a Zip100 drive, a Jaz 2GB drive, Toshibe DVD burner drive, and Floppy Disk drive. plus a few other accessories. Gotta love my memory storage Of course, if this were 1984, I also have a fine computer setup in my basement that works just fine for my 8-bit needs. Plus, I still get semi-speedy internet on it with a clever little modem device I bought online: Do you want I should post my other 7 computers' setups, too? LOL Methinks I'm a geek, too

LOL, yeah I know what you mean. I use those 5 1/4 floppy disks on that computer. Interestingly enough, the computer does not display any code when accessing the internet. Basically, it just shows the basic text on the screen. Pictures and other extras like that are displayed as *image* or *dnr* which stands for data not recognized. Unfortunately, in order to consistently web browse where you're not clearing the memory every 5 minutes, you need a disk operating constantly to store all the temporary files and cookies left by the website. With only 64k of ram, that stuff fills the memory extremely quickly.
That is why I rarely use that computer for web browsing, though it works fantastic for word processing. I can't even remember how many homework assignments I have typed up on the commodore, lol.

Yeah it is. Just love using outdated electronics for practical uses today, lol. That sounds really cool! I'm looking to build a new video editing PC soon, so I know the excitement . Just don't ruin it with Mac OS. I adore PC's and their Windows OS's, lol You too.

Not much to mine. My desktop is currently sitting on the floor in room. My Room is sort of out of it right now, but I do plan to get a desk.

And for that matter there isn't a 3.9GHz hexacore processor either, overclocking notwithstanding. And the cache numbers are wrong too, the i7-980x has 12mb of L3 cache, not 16, and 6x256k of L2. And yeah, 4TB HDDs don't exist yet.

starsky_Hiro wrote: Ok you are making that up. Really. There is no such thing as a 4tb hard drive. http://www.computerworld.com/s/article/ ... hard_driveExternal, admittedly, but there's been 4tb hard drives since 2009. 4TB HDDs that fit into a computer rig will probably not be out until late 2011, but it's fully possible to install an OS to the SSD drive & then use ext. hard drives to keep data on.

That's not a 4TB hard drive, it's an external enclosure with two 2TB hard drives striped together. Single 4TB hard drives do not exist yet. It's possible to have four 2TB HDDs, and stripe them in pairs to create two 4TB volumes, but that's not the same thing as having two 4TB hard drives.
