So... you guys may or may not of heard about this thing called "Anthrocon." No, no, I'm not going there, however, I have just registered for a similar event in the Dallas, Texas area, known as "Furry Fiesta 2010" on February 19-21 of next year. Um, yeah. I don't normally type like this, but I'm trying to show how apprehensive I'm feeling about this whole thing. To be honest, I just wanted to go to one of these kinds of events just to see what they're like. I've heard good things, I've heard not-so-good things, but I think the best way for me to form my own opinion about them is to experience one myself. So, down to the point, I wanted to ask if anyone else in the northern Texas area is going to be there. Info is here: http://www.furryfiesta.org

Lucky Swords is lucky. I'd love to go a fur con but not that one. xD Too far away. I think they're generally just good fun, hope you have a good time!

No I have not been to FurryFiesta, however, I do attend more Midwestern local conventions such as Anthrocon, Furry Connect North, and Midwest FurFest over the last 3-5 years. If you are asking how a furry convention is, I can't give a definite answer; I'm not you. I can say, though, that they have similarities like other conventions with panels, programmed events, art showings/dealing, an exponentially growing fan base, etc etc. Depending if you are the social person or just adventurous, a convention would be good to go to. While some people do not personally like them, about 90% of first time con-goers would likely attend another one. I'd say just go for it. Personally, Anthrocon 2004 was my first convention, and it was quite an experience if I must say myself. Been going to Anthrocon every year since.

I can't go because I kinda live far away(Maryland). I'm not a furry so I haven't had any interest in going to a convention, but someday if I hear of a local one I might go. Have fun and take some cool photos!!

If nothing else, it'll be an event where I can just have a good time, meet others, learn things, browse/maybe purchase good artwork, etc. The more I think about it, the more excited I am to go. I'll be sure that, when I finally do attend, I'll have some pictures and stories to share. ^^
