Living in Australia has its advantages like the diverse and unique wildlife (Which I don't need to mention here).

However, this island nation does have its own irritating things like the current abundance of the Christmas beetles, they like to fly into the house if given the chance to. While I'm writing this, some of them are wriggling their way through the underside of the door and start to act like little kamikaze planes, flying around aimlessly and mostly slamming into the wall continuously. I should also mention the frequent swarm of fruit flies that often relentlessly terrorize everyone in sight. We're presently thinking of ways to keep those little buggers out but it seems they are just too smart and persistent.

Anyone got the same problem?

I was born in Australia. So, I have had the same problem almost every summer/spring of my life. Even my dogs get mad at the flies and try to bite them . I recommend using those Automatic Flyspray things. Another thing that bugs me, is the ammount of mice we have here, no matter how many you get rid of, more come. My mother hates mice, so whenever I hear her scream, I know there's a mouse in the house.

We used to have lots of mice but they don't seem to be coming around much lately. I remember seeing a small rat caught in one of those paste traps once and it squeaked for the whole day, much to everyone's annoyance >_>.
