A private RP between Draco and myself. Its about our Pikachu characters Fork and Tazer.


It was a nice quiet morning in Viridian Forest. All of the bug Pokemon were coming out from their slumber, while others were just starting to get to sleep. Every now and again a human would walk through the forest and capture a new bug Pokemon. And that's when a young Pichu brother with a chunky tuft of hair on his head would hide. His older brother always warned him about humans and to never let them see you, or else they would take you away.

He lived with his brother mostly, but the two of them tried to stay within the safe boundaries of an colony of Pikachu. There was safety in numbers after all for the little electric rodents. Like many other Pichu, he couldn't use his electric attacks without shocking himself. So his only means of defense, other than the colony, was to either hide or run.

The young Pichu found it best to scurry up a tree whenever he smelled a human. He didn't have very good balance, however, so he had to be very careful. It was one of those times he was careless when he bumped into a Beedrill's nest. The Pichu fell out of the tree as a means of getting out of there fast and immediately called to his brother for help.

"Brother! Help! The Beedrill is after me! I didn't do anything this time!" he cried.

Being as nice a morning as it was, in another part of the colony's boundaries, said brother was currently relaxed up in a tree on on of the thicker branches so he could lay out comfortably. He too was a Pichu, and a scruffy looking one at that, with, similar to Fork, a few wisps of bangs, though his were longer and thiner. And despite being the older of the two of them, the Pichu had not evolved yet. Because Pichu evolved through happiness, it might be a while, and many of the colony members thought Fork would evolve first between them.

This was due to the older's impatience to evolve. He hated being small and weak, unable to use attacks properly without hurting himself as well. It was pathetic. His personality was easily opposite to that of his younger brother, who was more easy going and friendly, happy. And the older had been training every day against other wild pokemon, or those willing from the colony, to become stronger. He'd managed to decrease the amount of recoil from his electric attacks to minimum, even learning statistical moves and strategies for fighting, yet still he remained as he was. It was frustrating to say the least. The colony acknowledged his strength and praised his commitment, but always told him not to force it, and that it didn't work that way. But the scruffy little Pichu was also known to be quite stubborn.

This anger towards himself most likely was the result of feeling guilty over losing their parents a few months ago. Being the eldest brother, he felt responsible for not only Fork but his parents, who were Pikachu. And while he also knew it wasn't his fault they had been captured and taken by trainers, at the time, he'd been too scared to do anything as their parents were taken. It was also then he had dedicated himself to becoming stronger, to protect his brother and the rest of the colony, even if that was a great task.

So when his younger brother's voice suddenly broke through the silence, snapping him out of his thoughts, the Pichu jumped up, and within seconds was jumping tree to tree heading in the direction the cry for help had come from. What had the other gotten himself into this time? The younger had a reputation for being a bit accident prone...

The younger Pichu ran as fast as he could through the bushes, but the large Beedrill was blinded by rage and kept hacking through them like it was nothing. The poor little unevolved Pokemon couldn't even find a hole to get inside. He had to take a bit of a risk and zapped the large bug Pokemon with a Thundershock. It stunned the Beedrill a little bit, but the Pichu hurt himself.

"That was a dumb move," he thought. "Now I'm getting tired!" He hoped that if he zapped the Beedrill enough it would become paralyzed and he'd be able to run away, but it seemed like he would faint before that even happened.

Just then, he heard a familiar voice calling to him from the trees above. It was his older brother there to save him, like he had many times before. He always had such good timing. With a bit of a tired smile, the younger Pichu scurried up the tree his older sibling was in. Unfortunately with his back turned, that was when the Beedrill decided to attack with one of its foreleg stingers.

The young Pichu was fast enough to not get harpooned through his back, but not fast enough for the Beedrill to miss the end of his tail. The young Pichu cried out and clung to the tree for dear life. So was the Beedrill's Twineedle attack. It wasn't poisonous, but it still hurt terribly, especially to one so small.

The older Pichu had urged the other to hurry up, but the Beedrill had ultimately been faster in its anger. Unknowing of what caused the bigger creature's anger, as the bug's stinger pierced the end of the other's tail, causing the younger to freeze up in pain, the older Pichu brother growled, the fur on its body raising. Hurt his brother did it... Jumping off the limb, he was already sparking with electricity as he landed on the large bug pokemon. With a cry from the small mouse pokemon upon the attack, the unfortunate bug pokemon jerked from the surge running through it's body, smoking once the attack ended, its body dropped to the ground below, still twitching a bit from the attack. That would teach it for messing with him.

Having leapt back onto the tree branch as the Beedrill had dropped, the Pichu winced as the recoil hit him, but shook it off. It would have been a lot worse if he hadn't been training to make himself stronger. Such a strong thundershock attack, from a Pichu no less, would have had a good recoil, probably enough to drain most other Pichu. Glaring down at the fainted Beedrill a moment, ready to continue if it showed any other signs of fight, the scruffy Pichu nodded after a moment, then turning to where his younger brother was still clinging to the trunk of the tree, just out of reach. From this angle, he couldn't see if there was any damage done to the other.

"Come on climb the rest of the way up here, its not far. That Beedrill won't be bothering you anymore." And if it ever did, the older wouldn't go easy on it next time.

Wibbling from being scared and injured, the younger Pichu shakily climbed back up the tree, to the branch of where his brother was. He plopped down and sat next to him, all teary-eyed from a number of things. He wiped his nose with his paw and looked back at his little black tail. It was bleeding.

"Ow... it hurts..." He reached his head around and started licking his own wound. His blood seemed to have been coagulating alright, but the split in his tail wasn't going to heal itself back together again.

Once the other had clambered onto the branch and shown his bleeding tail, the older brother stepped over to look at it as well. Frowning at the blood. Atleast it wasn't any worse, which it very well could have been, though his younger brother's tail now had a split that couldn't be fixed. This wouldn't have even happened if he'd been watching his sibling, knowing he was prone to getting himself in trouble. The older's thinking that he'd maybe gotten past it was his mistake, and now the other was hurt because of it.

The scruffy Pichu turned to glare again down at the pokemon that had done this to his brother, briefly plotting revenge, before the whimper coming from beside him turned his attention back to his sibling. Now it was over and he had to take care of the tearful younger Pokemon. He could plot later, when he wasn't as needed. Putting on a small teasing smile, he pat the other briefly.

"It's not that bad, it even stopped bleeding. Come on, we'll go to the river and wash it off..."

He sniffled and wiped his nose again. "Okay," he squeaked, smiling a bit. He climbed down the tree after his brother and together the two of them went to the river. Thankfully no other Pokemon were around to bother them now. But thats okay, because if they did, his big brother would teach them a lesson. He wished he was good at electric attacks like his brother and the Pikachus. Maybe one day he'd evolve and then he'd show those Beedrill not to mess with him ever again.

Along the way, the two of them ate some berries and it made them both feel alot better. They made it to the river and the younger Pichu started washing himself off in the water, careful that no Magikarp are the next to mangle his tail.

Watching his younger sibling taking care of his tail, the older took the job of keeping watch, incase some other pokemon decided to attack. They would be in for a real surprise if they did. Moving to stand beside his brother, the scruffy Pichu bent to stick his head into the cool water, pulling back before shaking off. That felt good, and helped to calm him a bit more from his still slightly tense mood. Then glancing to the younger again, tried to think of something to lighten the mood.

"Hey, think of it this way, no one will be able to mix us up again because of your tail. You'll look tougher too, like a battle wound, haha." his brother always told him he didn't like being picked on or teased by the other pokemon after all.

"You really think so?" The younger Pichu perked up, looking back as his wagging tail rather proudly. He was pretty thrilled about no one being able to get them confused, because sometimes some of the other Pichus needed his older brother's help for something and tried getting the younger brother to help, or a Pikachu would try to train him, and this would create some interestingly distressful times for the young Pichu.

He always entertained the idea of looking like a battle-scarred Pikachu whe he grew up, but he was too afraid to get into many tough fights, so that hindered his plans a bit.

When the younger Pichu walked over to the water to get a drink, his ear twitched at a noise nearby, coming from one of the Pokemon-made trails.

"Didya hear that?" the younger brother asked, his eyes getting wide and his ears and tail going erect? He sniffs the air. "I smell a... Pikachu."

The scruffy Pichu had picked up on the scent as well, frowning and turning towards the trail as well, listening and watching for any signs of movement, while inching closer to his brother protectively. The scent wasn't that of any of the Pikachu in their colony, so this meeting, if there was to be one, could go either way. The form of entry was still a surprise as first a voice suddenly cried out from the woods, somewhere unseen and hidden in the shadows and brush.

"Go Circuit, stun then with a thunder wave! Don't let those Pichu get away!" The older brother was just able to make out the brief silhouetted form that burst from the trees and into the air before the air lit up with electricity. With a gasp, the Pichu leapt, pushing his younger sibling out of the way, causing them to roll just in time to miss the oncoming attack by inches. Getting back to his feet, the scruffy brother positioned himself in front of the younger, ready to defend them, sparks flying from his cheeks. And now he had a good view of his attacker and opponent. The Pikachu, bigger than they were, being an evolved form, was poised and ready for another attack as well, a black collar around it's neck made it clear, besides the voice command from earlier, that it wasn't a wild pokemon, but a captured and trained one. And he would have to fight against the other, probably stronger, evolved pokemon in order to protect his brother. Fine then, a fight it was. Stepping forward a bit, the Pichu growled, fur ruffling a bit. The voice from before yelled out again. "Alright then, give them a thundershock!"

But the Pikachu wouldn't get the chance to attack again first this time. As the evolved pokemon charged up for the attack, the older Pichu brother was already on the attack, striking his opponent with a quick attack and knocking the bigger creature back. But it was quick to recover, and was on its feet in a moment, sparks flying from its cheeks in clear annoyance.

"Why you little pest..." A girl? The Pikachu was a girl, huh? Not that it really made any difference, just interesting. Circuit had been the name the voice had used right? "You'll regret that!" she retorted before charging, using her own quick attack and knocking the brother back. The hit had managed to knock the wind out of him, making it a struggle to get back on his feet. She was strong...

The younger Pichu was knocked out of the way and while he took a moment to recover, a battle had already begun between his sibling and a rival Pikachu. He knew he shouldn't interfere with a battle, but if he didn't do something, both of them were going to be captured! He quickly jumped in front of his brother, his fur frizzing up, his cheeks sparking, and his teeth bared.

He never fought a girl before. Should he fight a girl? Would it be fair? All the while he was pondering whether or not he should attack a girl, the Pikachu was running towards him with another attack, ready to headbutt her second opponent and certain she could defeat them both, no sweat.

The younger Pichu stared wide-eyed and did the same thing, running towards her, but instead of headbutting her, he started skidding to a stop.

"Circuit, don't knock it out!"

Just then Circuit slowed her pace, clumsily, and also started skidding to a stop, but not soon enough to do a complete face-plant against the young Pichu's face. Circuit backed away frantically, but her face was no longer menacing. It was love-dazed.

"Sweet kiss? Are you SERIOUS? C'mon, Circuit!"

The younger Pichu's cheeks grew a darker pink than they already were, but aside from that, he couldn't move. No, he wasn't stunned from love, he was paralyzed from the Pikachu's static. He started to panic when the trainer reached into his bag and pulled out a Pokeball. The older Pichu saw this and tried to drag his brother out of the way, but he wasn't budging. Without leaving much time for the older Pichu to react, he threw the ball and it sucked the younger Pichu inside.

"No!" Was all the older Pichu managed before witnessing his brother disappearing into the ball. No, this couldn't happen! Not again! Getting up, wincing a bit, he ran to the ball and started doing everything he could to try and open it. Gnawing, clawing, hitting, even shocking it. But was soon stopped, as Circuit attacked him again with a quick attack, followed by a thunder shock that made him collapse, panting, exhausted. Yet still he struggled to his feet again, nearly falling back over, but managing to catch himself on all fours, glaring at the bigger pokemon standing there with a smug grin on her face. Gritting his teeth, the scruffy Pichu stood up, too stubborn to give up, especially knowing he had to save his brother still trapped in that ball. In his final attempt, he gathered up all his remaining strength and let lose a thunder shock.

It hit its target, and Circuit winced, but was neither knocked back, nor downed by it by any means, like the Pichu's other opponents had been. She only seemed to shake it off and put on that same grin. With a stagger, the older sibling finally collapsed, having used all his energy in that last attack, panting tiredly on the ground, and glancing weakly over at the pokeball, before a figure stepping out of the brush caught his attention. A trainer. The trainer... Circuit's trainer and master. He casually strode over, and picked up the pokeball, looking at it briefly, then down to the Pichu, finally to Circuit, who stood ready, looking up at him.

"Good Circuit. They didn't stand a chance..." reaching to his hip, he pulled out another pokeball, only having to simply drop it onto the remaining Pichu brother to initiate the capture. And he was unable to move away as it pulled him into darkness.

The younger Pichu was unconscious for a number of hours. The next time he woke up, he was in a completely different environment. It was outside, and grassy, but behind an expanse of fences. There were a few Pichu, Pikachu, and even Raichu roaming around outside freely and they were all wearing different-colored collars. Not only that but the young Pichu was feeling quite well. He felt recharged and his tail was even healed. The split was still there, but it was healed.

"There you are, buddy!" called a familiar voice.

The young Pichu looked up and saw the trainer he saw earlier. He captured him didn't he? But for some reason the young Pichu didn't feel threatened by him at all. He didn't look so mean like he did before. So the Pichu stayed there, unlike before whereas he would have run away.

"Welcome to my Pikachu ranch," the man smiled, holding out a blue size-adjustable collar. He reached it around the Pichu's neck and clipped it together. "You and your friend are a part of a new family now." The Pichu looked at him oddly. Did that mean he caught his brother too? Then where was he? Was he alright? He hoped he was, but there were no promises that he'd be happy.

"I name every Pichu a catch and that includes you. I already named your friend. It was pretty appropriate, I'd say," he laughed. He explained that it was because his brother kept shocking him, so he named him Tazer. "But what about you? You don't seem as rowdy as your friend. Should your name be Bolt? Or maybe your name should be Sparky?" the trainer looked him over. "But you have a forked tail." He thought about this for a moment. A common type of lightning was forked lightning. Maybe his name could be forked?

"Hmmm... heheh, your new name is Fork." He reached down and pet the Pichu's head, then turned around to leave. "Go off and find your friend, Fork! I've got some business to take care of." And with that, the trainer went back inside his house. Fork smiled to himself. He had a collar and now a new name? He had to tell his brother!

The younger Pichu sibling, now named Fork, had been correct in his thinking about his older brother. He had certainly not been happy upon first realizing what was going on, and where he was. And being handled by the trainer who'd caught him especially made him mad, and he let the human know so by means of shocking him if he came anywhere near him, much less touch him. It didn't help that the trainer, who he'd found his name was Corey Charger, just found it funny, still trying to make friends and trying to give him a collar. That idea was rejected as well so he had thankfully ended up just leaving it alone for now. But not before introducing him to his new name, which the Pichu really didn't know what to think about. Tazer...

But as Corey had motioned to leave, he had mentioned that his brother was around here too, as well as others of his kind, which he could smell now that he thought about it. And now that he knew, that was the first thing he wanted to do. Find his brother. Once the trainer had left, he took off through the property in search, trying to find his scent, but with all the new smells and pokemon here, it wasn't going to be easy. And he kept being stopped by some of the resident pokemon to say welcome to the ranch, and to introduce him to others. By the time he'd finally managed to get back to his search, he'd already met Bolt, Stormy, Ribbon, Lei, Rocket, Tuvi, Sprite and Sparkle. All Pichu as well. Then there were the few Pikachu and Raichu that he met as well. And that wasn't even half the population at the ranch. He was glad atleast Circuit wasn't around, or he'd most likely lose track of his current task and want to challenge her again. Excusing himself from the group, Tazer continued his quest of sorts. It didn't take much longer after that he saw the familiar form, now more recognizable by the split tail, and ran over.

Fork heard something approaching him from behind and looked. "Brother! I mean, Tazer!" he laughed. "You found me!" Fork playfully pressed one cheek to his brother's and gave him a friendly shock. He was so happy he found his brother. He didn't get a chance to meet any of the other Pichu just yet. He was focused on finding Tazer. But he definitely looked forward to meeting everybody.

"Are you okay? Did he give you a collar?" Fork walked around his brother to try and answer his own questions.
