It is pretty sad when things like this are no longer a surprise when they happen, when they become more or less expected. I guess the only surprising thing is that it occurred on a military base and was orchestrated by military personnel. and apparently the shooters are soldiers stationed there. Major Malik Hasan was the identified shooter that was gunned down by a member of local law enforcement agency whom was also gunned down as well.


Tell me folks, what the HELL is this country coming to? honestly.

anyways, thoughts go out to the families of those injured or killed in this horrific attack.

MY question is... why don't people concentrate more on the GOOD things that are going on?

This was a terrible event, but there is one bright side, it was obvious by his actions that Major Hasan was planning on killing as many people as he possibly could but he was stopped before he could kill more people by a brave guard that took him down (it may have been more than one, I've heard both).

Let's look at the facts, Hasan was showing signs of being mentally unstable and violant, the man wrote a paper comparing suicide bombers to a soldier jumping on a granade to save their allies, in preparation for the attack, he sold many of his poccessions, maybe all of them. He was showing clear warning signs that he was nearing a violent out burst, which the military ignored. And this morning, it was revealed he was in contact with a Al Quada supporter over the internet, and the military knew it, but chose not to do anything about it, the same with Anti-American rants he was doing. Hasan was a Muslim, but he was showing signs that he was or was swiftly becoming an extremist. The fact he sold his poccessions implies, to me, that he was planning on ether killing himself after or being killed during his attack.

Basically, I hate to say it, but it seems to me this could've been prevented, the military knew this man was showing signs of mental instability and violent tendencies, and yet chose not to act. Yes, the majority of the blaim falls on Hasan, and rightfully so, but the fact the military failed to act upon these warning signs puts some blaim on his higher ups. I'm proud of our armed forces and their sacrifices, I'm just saying they messed up with this individual and this could've been prevented had they responded to the warning signs.

I pray for the families of the victims.
