What if, every night, as soon as it grows dark, another world opens up before your eyes? That's what happened to Riley and Katie. Riley woke up one night, to complete silence, except for.....whatever was making that noise. She pulled aside the curtain, and saw a bunch of spirits, haunting the streets.
Katie was woken too, and she saw the same things. It happens every night, for longer and longer periods of time. They find each other one night, and automatically strike up a friendship, being the only ones alive at the time. They find out that the worlds are beginning to collide, and that means disaster. Living will die, and spirits will vaporize. They have to stop it, while trying to survive the spirit world.

Ok, so should I start, or do you want to?

Well, wouldn't that depend on who sees the spirits first?

Hey, I'm just asking. Who ever starts would be whoever sees them first. Is it ok if I start?

Sorry if I sounded mean *.* All I meant is that I assumed you're character saw them first.

No, you didnt sound mean or anything.And I didnt care who saw them first. I mean, I'll start it anyway if you want.

That's only if you want to ^-^ I have no problems starting.

OK then, I'll start.

Riley woke up, at about 9 or 10. She shook her head puzzled. Nothing seemed wrong, what had woke her? She blinked, her mind still foggy and hazy. She sat up groggily, pushing aside her blankets. SHe was still confused, then she realized that noting was wrong, except for....something. Something that was making moaning sounds. Or maybe somethings, how would she know? SHe walked over to the window and pushed aside the curtain, peering into the gloom. What she saw sent her running back to her bed. SHe huddled under the covers, shivering in fear. What had she seen? Ghosts? SHe shook her head. There werent such things as ghosts. But now, apparently there were. She shivered more, feeling like her life was now a horror movie gone wrong.

Katie had gone to her room early. She laid in bed now, looking at her more occult jewelry fondly. She was in love, in love with the occult. Katie was half asleep when she heard the same moaning noises. Getting up slowly the young girl went to her window, and pulled apart the curtains. What Katie saw amazed and terrified her-spirits! Her heart raced and her blood pounded as she watched the dead souls flutter and dance in the breeze. Katie leaned against the sill, holding her crescent moon pendant tightly. She felt no fear, only wonder and morbid fascination.

Riley curled up tighter as the moans seemed to get louder. This could not be happening. Horror movies and stuff, those were all for the thrill, nothing ever was true! She took in a shaky breath, then pushed off her covers again. If her life was turning into a horror movie, she wasn't going to sit in bed, terrorized. She would try to wake up, if this was a dream, which it probably was. As that possibility came to her, she decided to fall asleep, and then she would wake up, and be able to laugh the whole thing off tomorrow morning. She laid back down, her heart still racing. But it was just a dream, just a dream. She kept repeating that to herself. Riley stayed in bed, trying to shake off the feeling thta this was real. She sat up, not able to fall asleep. She pinched her self, then realization hit her like a wave. It wasnt a dream. It wasnt a hallucination. This was all to terribly real.

Katie smiled and opened her window. She was half out when her little brother Danny opened the door. He did not see outside the window.

"Where are you going?" he asked

"Out, and don't tell Mama, Danny. I'll be back." Katie replied jumping out the window. Little Danny walked out of his sister's room, closing the door and going to sleep with his Mother.

Outside Katie gasped, laughing softly as she danced around. She wore a short red skirt and a black and red shirt, with wide, long sleeves made of red fishnet. She loved it, being caressed by the Spirits exhilarated her.

Riley decided to go out. SHe might as well. Ghosts could come in at any given moment anyway. As she opened tehy window, she found it suprisingly home. She swung her legs through, and dropped to the ground. She automatically tensed as she saw ghosts drifting towards her. But the just went past, not caring about the living girl who had unbiddingly entered their world. She walked cautiously along, dodging ghosts, or maybe they were spirits, she wasnt sure. SHe had decided to explore, and now she was going to carry it through. She spotted another girl and walked towards her, automatically trusting the only living thing she could see. What else was she supposed to do?

Riley walked curiously over to the other girl, probably the only other living being in this world of the dead. She looked at the girl curiously, wondering what to say. This wasn't your typical place to meet and talk. She finally decided to say something. "Hi," she said, wincing inwardly at how stupid that sounded. "I'm Riley." she said, smiling. Oh, perfect. I said hi and introduced myself in the world of the dead. How stupid can I get? she wondered silently. She stepped away from a ghost/spirit as it drifted slowly towards her.
