Ok, today Aniu Caelestis needed to practically lock down the Privite RP section to get in contact with us on an important matter, I'm not mad to her about that, I'm not sure if a mod's capability to contact people on the site is any better that ours, which given what I know, would take hours to contact through PM everyone that needs to hear an message. And the way she had to do it didn't even work entirely well because people got more confused. The fact is, if this is the only way she could get our attention to get an important matter to us, maybe the mods ability to report things directly to us Animationsource users needs to be improved. All I'm wondering is is it possible to get the mods a better way to contact a lot of users besides the need to shut down a portion of the site? I'm not mad that AC did what she had to do to get an important message to those using the privite RP boards but if thats how she had to do it, maybe the mod's ability to contact people needs improved, so is there a way to improve the contacting abilities of the mods if something this important, heaven forbid, needs to be told to us again?

There really should be. Or better yet, it'd be even better if people paid attention to announcements/stickies posted in those sections anyways. I've tried just posting them and doing nothing else before and gotten little to no response in return.

I know, that's what I'm saying, there needs to be a better way for you guys to tell us important stuff.

I'm not sure if its possible, but another site I've been to made it so if there was something important the mods wanted seen, when you accessed the forums, it brought up a window saying something like 'The Moderators Want You to Visit this Thread Before Continueing to the site' and a link to the thread, you couldn't continue until you'd looked at the thread, but it only did that once then you could browse all you wanted. It was easy and it wasn't a hassel everytime you logged on, just once, which in this case probably would've been enough. Is there any way to do that here?

I could do something like that on the site, but not on the forums because it would require a large amount of modding (modification to the source code).
But in any case, if people choose to ignore stickies topics (because they are, don't make me believe they don't see when a new one is posted!!) it wouldn't change much.
Do we have to write announcements in blinking red with 120px in order for the visitors to notice them??

Well I don't, but still. I think its rediculious that this is what needs to be done to get an important message across. It seems the news things on the main site would be far more noticed, is it possible to give mods the ability to post important messages there other than just the ones in charge of fan news and such?

Is there anyway we could make it so announcement could be sent to everyone through PM at once by mods? I mean since the forum and main site PMs are connected, then it could be done through the main site. But there'd need to be a way to make it so that replying to that PM doesn't send a PM to every member of the site as well.
