A fact is that everyone that passes to this forum at least has a little love for the series. I just want to ask you how much. I've seen a few interested topics and good stories within my just 2 months of being here.

These are the questions:

1.- How fond are you with the characters and the show, as a whole, and what is it that brings you to to like it in the first place (when you were a kid) in contrast to what is keeping you to abandon the fandom now that you're adult?

2.- Lets suppose that Disney brings back the show. Just a supposition mind you... What shoulod be taken off and what should be added in order to keep the original fans (the ones who saw the show as kids) to continue loving it and maybe even more than before?

3.- Whats your favorite character on the series? why and what would happen if he/she ages up . should the personality of this character change a little bit and how should it be changed. if you have a favorite character give me an explanation on your thoughts accordingly. Also, who is the least favorite? why and how can he/she at least be someone who is not as horrid or hated without changing his/her personality knowing that sometimes that would be impossible, but just in some cases.

4. Please be honest here no matter how crude your answer will be. It is your side of the coin, so nothing will happen to the the VS team that will make us stop what we are doing, at least not from your answers. Fell free to comment in any way. the reason we'd like to know is to find out in what grounds are we standing.

a:- Do you think this project will at least jump off to work on a few episodes, then motivation will run off?

b.- You dont believe that this project is at all going to get off the ground

c.- you are interested in joining the team but want to make sure something is done before you ever apply to participate in the TS Vs Management

d.- you dont care that much to even think about anything talespin related and just visit to burn some of the time you have

e.- elaborate your own objection as of why you are not participating

Or they are curious. Many people are registered, but most don't post on the TS sections because originally the forums was dedicated to other films, and most have never seen the series. Of course, that will change progressively, and I can say the TS forums is getting more and more active.

THE question?

I think the fact I made a TS site talks for itself :)

Actually I didn't "like" it when I was a kid, though I remember it. In fact, it's not that I didn't like, just that I didn't watch it.
And what brings me to like it? I have always loved the Disney characters, especially in the 90's era, and I just never remembered about the Disney series - until one day, when I decided to watch some episodes, and ta-da. You can thank Youtube for that...

Quote:

Nothing. I have always loved traditional animation, and when something is good, I watch it - I don't care about the society stereotyps / categorizations which decide that adults shouldn't watch cartoons.
Don't get me wrong, I don't watch only that - I like thrillers, science fictions films and series for example, I just don't talk much about them here since that's not the place.
And in any way, live action is too different - animation has a special place in my heart. Live or 3D can never replace traditional animation.

Not like it's going to happen any day, unfortunately. But : if they do, don't change ANYTHING! The current formula is perfect, and I'm sure it would still work nowadays. It has not aged, the storyline is intemporal and so are the scenarios. It has a perfect balance between comedy / adventure / romance. Especially, I would really hope they don't change the characters and settings style, and don't change the characters personalities either.
But if they really would make a change : remove the "reset" button. Make it so that things evolve, IMO that way it would be even better.
Honestly, that's the only thing I can see.

Maybe improve the animation / budget, but it would be difficult nowadays when they try to reduce costs on everyhing.

I think I explained that here : viewtopic.php?f=74&t=28033

Depends on what you mean by "a few episodes" because, as stated previously, there are different ways of making one "episode" and I'm not sure we've really decided the form it will take yet.
But I'll make sure it doesn't happen.

1. I was pretty fond of the show when younger, it was a great concept and I liked the idea of a world were animals were in charge. Right now, I'm rediscovering it sorta, I'm looking into it again for the sake of this project and remembered I did like it.

2. I think maybe update the technology and stuff, work on certain themes that are now big but make sure to keep the spirit of the original.

3. I honestly can't remember the characters all that much, it's been a long time.

4. I think this'll work well but we need to take a incentive to give a descent amount of info about what happened in the series up to where we pick up. So I guess c sorta.

I was very fond of the show. Even as an adult I still love the story lines. Abandonment: perhaps others disinterest

2.- Lets suppose that Disney brings back the show. Just a supposition mind you... What shoulod be taken off and what should be added in order to keep the original fans (the ones who saw the show as kids) to continue loving it and maybe even more than before? I think that the story lines should stay the same and the characters, but evolve them in a natural processsion. There were many questions that were left unanswered by the series Kit, Rebecca's husband, Wildcat, and the B & B relationship

3.- Whats your favorite character on the series? why and what would happen if he/she ages up . should the personality of this character change a little bit and how should it be changed. if you have a favorite character give me an explanation on your thoughts accordingly. Age and evolve them naturally, obviously Kit isn't going to turn into a Mass Murder. I do agree with evolving the technology but parallel to our own universe and time. Although they were more advanced in other ways than us.

I have enjoyed this show ever since I saw it as a kid, one of the reruns. I was just born when it first aired XD What kept me interested in the show when I was a kid was the aircraft factor. I love airplanes. Now that I'm older I appreciate better the personalities of the characters and how they relate to one another. I also was captivated by the quality of the animation [then again, all animated films/shows does that to me ;) ]

Probably the most requested thing would be to air once more the uncut Plunder and Lightning. (I realzied even some of the movies being shown on disney channel were cut as well to fit the schedule) Otherwise I don't want them to touch anything else. The story was perfect. The characters were down to earth. If ever they decide to do anything maybe just clean up of animation for a smoother animation but that's not really necessary.

My favorite character would be Kit Cloudkicker. There was a time wherein I completely forgot about Talespin. I forgot the story, the characters, and even the fact that it existed(gasp). However in my childhood imaginations I always had this image of a plane towing someone as it soared through the sky. Only when Steet setup TaleSpin Source (thanks by the way :D) I realized that the memory I had in my imagination was really that of Kit. It appears that Kit always lingered in my subconscious  If I had to choose a least favorite, it'd be the one shot characters just because of the fact that they didn't leave an impression because of their single appearances. Otherwise I don't have a hated/disliked character. I like everyone!

My answer would be a modified 'a'. I imagine a rough start and maybe a semi-bumpy road that lies ahead of the VS project. However I believe that the project would at least produce an output, an intro/promotional video and/or an one episode perhaps if we're lucky, before starting to run out of steam. I am naturally an optimistic person so yeah that's what I think. XD

Oh, does that mean you (re)discovered it because of the site? Well! That's exactly why I made it in the first place :)

What brought me to like Talespin was it's mixture of humor, drama and adventure. The characters were just perfect. I remember when I first saw Talespin when the reruns were airing, back when I was 3. I'm not sure if I was fan when I first saw it, but I definitely am now and will continue to be a good one.

Talespin [along with other old school disney cartoons] heavily influenced my Trouble Shooters series [a crossover spinoff between Superbook/Flying House]. I even gave Angie similar qualities to Becky, considering I found them both similar. :)

We should definitely add the singing vultures from Jungle Book. lol What should be taken off is kinda a hard question that comes to mind. I think taking away anything from Talespin would ruin it for the fans.

I think my favorites has to be Kit and Wildcat.

Kit because his relationship with Baloo was really touching. I remember when I saw 'Plunder and Lightning part 3' where he 'betrayed' Baloo, so he could free him. To me, that was the most unselfish act Kit's done. I would've done the same to help my friends. So basically, I think Kit should be a bit older, but still the Kit the fans know and love.

Wilcat's my favorite because of his personality. He always has the mind of a child. I def think that should be untouched.

Now, my least favorite characters...hmm. I really don't know. I only saw a good chunk of the episodes, so I can't give out a list. However, I didn't like the zookeeper in the episode 'All Whale's That Ends Whale.' He really had no value for animal life.

As for question #4, I really don't know that one either. I'll be honest, I think if we keep the motivation and the imagination going, this could very well be a successful Talespin revival.
