TS VS Timeline

Note:
This is a rough timeline and is nowhere near complete or polished. Some events may still be shifted around, changed or removed. It's also extremely optimistic. I probably will only be able to do the first year. I included the rest just in case this project really takes off, I'd rather have a plan and not enough volunteers than volunteers and no plan. Ideas, suggestions, feedback and constructive criticism are welcome. Most of these “ideas” and events are very basic; I just included them as possible starting points for stories. Generally, the further away from the first VS, the more basic the story idea. Like “Kit has his high school graduation” for example. These basic events are there to hopefully start a discussion of what kind of possible story could be made from it. Because Kit is my favorite character, most of my story ideas revolve around him or at least feature him to a large degree. Also, several of these ideas were inspired by other writers' fanfiction. Any idea that belongs to another writer has been indicated as such. If I haven't given credit where it's due, please let me know. (It's hard to remember where I read everything.)

Legend:

+1 - The number of years after the original series left off. (also may denote season, depending on how many episodes are done per season)
13-7 - Kit and Molly's ages respectively. For our convenience.
1.1 - Reference number used only for our internal reference. Does not necessarily indicate the order. Ie: 2.5 may not end up as the fifth episode of the second season. Once an episode has been “locked in” it's particular season/episode slot, it will get a permanent designation that I'll come up with later.

+1
13-7

1.1 - “2nd Pilot”
1.2 - Lilly Ravenwood makes reappearance having something to do with the Sky-Raker Microfilm from the comic. Shere Khan and Don Karnage are both after the microfilm. At the end of the episode, she goes to live with a relative in a nearby city; the relative has a daughter Molly's age.
1.3 - Don Karnage takes Kit, Baloo and Rebecca prisoner where they learn how Don Karnage stole the Iron Vulture. Molly runs around The Vulture wreaking havoc and terrorizing the crew who can't seem to get a good look at the “gremlin”. Molly saves he H4H gang in the nick of time.
1.4 - Don Karnage and some other pirates are deliberately captured by Thembrians so they can steal some piece of advanced military hardware or something cool like that.

+2
14-8

2.1 - Lilly Ravenwood returns to stay in Cape Suzette for the summer and brings her new “lil sis” who is Molly age. (how convenient) Molly gets a new friend.
2.2 - Ernie and his other friends learn Kit's air pirate past. [Inspired by Gregory Weagle's fanfics.]
2.3 - Baloo begins giving Kit flying lessons. [I think I got this from a HighFlight story... It's a broad topic so I want to elaborate on it.]
2.4 - Myra Foxworthy returns; takes the gang on a treasure hunt or something.
2.5 - Kit gets his first girlfriend. [Possibly Sasha from Dan Green's fanfic “Innocents Aboard”]
2.6 – An Idol from Professor O' Bowens turns Rebecca into a human. (temporarily) [inspired by an incomplete fanfic by j.b.]

+3
15-9

3.1 - Lilly Ravenwood moves to Cape Suzette
3.2 - Molly meets Shere Khan great nephew, Vikram Khan, future heir to Shere Khan industries and they become friends. [Vikram Khan based on characters by Charles Grey]
3.3 - Molly, her friend and Vikram Khan have some adventures. [inspired by or based on Charles Grey's fics.]
3.4 - Kit will probably need a new airfoil by now having outgrown the old one. How does he get a new one? Maybe this could be an opportunity to learn a little about his past. He could make one and give the old one to Molly or Oscar Vandersnoot.

+4
16-10

4.1 - Kit finally gets his pilot's licenses. :-D
4.2 - Kit enters an air race.
4.3 - Pandas attack again and maybe kidnap Baloo. Kit lies about his age to join the air corps to try to save Baloo and Cape Suzette.
4.4 - Kit and Baloo strike uneasy truce with Don Karnage.
4.5 - Kit receives a large check as a payment for his actions in air corps. He buys gifts for everyone but under-reports the amount of the check. He invests difference as advised by Vikram Khan.
4.6 - Kit buys a motorcycle.
4.7 - Don Karnage and company take a vacation from Cape Suzette to loot/engage in business elsewhere.

+5
17-11

5.1 – Lucius “The Silver Tongue” returns from Nirvana for a visit. He has mastered the Spiritual and the Physical gaining one or more freaky brain powers. (telekinesis / Telepathy/ Precognition/ Remote viewing/ Transvection [flying]) What effect might returning from a 'perfect' world to an imperfect world have on him? Maybe he does alright at first but eventually is overwhelmed by the negativity of an imperfect world and snaps... In spectacular fashion. He could go berserk like a mega villain and have to be epically “defeated”. (They really just make him remember Nirvana and he suddenly regains his sanity and decides to return there.) [Lucius is a character in the TS comic “The Gates of Shambhala” who ascends to Nirvana at the end of the story]

+6
18-12

6.1 - Kit has his High School graduation.
6.2 - Kit learns his investments have skyrocketed. He cashes in some of it and takes everyone goes on an extended vacation to Europe (TS universe equivalent). H4H gang has adventures in Europe for an episode or three.
6.3 – Upon the gang's return from Europe, Kit re-enlist in the air corps to become a test pilot.

+7
19-13

7.1 - Kit test jet fighter/cool aircraft.
7.2 - Kit joins the Usland intelligence service and gains access to secret information/stuff. He learns the fate of his parents.

what now???

I would like to suggest each season having an overall storyarche, the 'villian/senero of the week' thing works for most but I think this would work better if we had a storyarche that connected several episodes togather in the season, coming to a head in the season finale. I see you've got a few series long story arches, which works, but I think this would be better.

Right, I agree. The timeline is still in its very early stages, so I'm still coming up with arcs. I have a few seeds of ideas for arcs that I may add when they're more developed, but in the meantime, please don't hesitate to suggest one. I'll need all the help I can get coming up with premises/plots/season arcs.

Well I had another character that may be a bit out there. Don't have a name for him yet but he's a spider, yeah since everyone in this show is anthro, I hope that's ok, he'd be a lot more mencing than he sounds. He's an aristocratic personality, so he acts superor to everyone else. My idea is maybe he gets into an arguement with them, claiming due to his personality that he is superor to them in everyway, he'd open a rival company to our my characters in an attempt to drive them out of business (his team being spiders as well), first legally by out competeing them (same type of job), and then becomes obcessed with it and tries illegally by various means. The idea for the spider is the fact with six arms (being they're anthro, two of their limbs are legs) and eyes, they'd be capable of flying a plane without needing to take their hands off the controls or eyes off the sky to handle the other controls, so they'd have faster reaction time, weak point is they're stuckup snobs. It'd probably end in a dog fight between our heroes and his teams where him and all his pilots are beaten and he is supposedly killed, though maybe not.

Is that ok?

Sorry for not responding sooner...

That's definitely an interesting idea! I've never thought of anthro spiders being in TaleSpin... While it's probably too far out to be an entire season arc, as an episode, (especially a freaky Halloween type episode) I think it could work. Maybe as a dream... Maybe a experiment gone haywire... Or magic. Hmm, I wonder what they'd look like?

Very interesting idea, it definitely has potential.

They could always be from another country, explaining the fact I keep imagining them with a southern accent. I keep imagining them as simular to the Manspider from Spiderman. Kinda like this:
http://jjinbeat.com/Cap/StarSpangledSit ... Spider.jpg

As for number of episode, I'd say a two parter would be the best, like he starts competing with them in the first episode and maybe they challenge him to a race or something and then the second episode is a race between the two teams but he starts losing so he tries to kill them, only to lead to a dogfight in which he is shot down and supposedly dies, but may reappear in attempt for revenge.

Ok, that could work. I really think this would make a good Halloween episode. Maybe it's the picture, but I have a hard time picturing a spider creature calmly delivering cargo... I see him as more of an immediate threat. Maybe a crazy scientist who experiments on himself or something. Where do you imagine him coming from?

Like another country, so far we only know of about three in this world, so it would make sense. The reason they're delieving cargo isn't cause they like to, its just to try to be superor to them, its their personailty. And they don't exactly do it calmly, he ends up trying to kill them in the race  . I suppose maybe he could also try illegal means before the race. I looked through the names of characters from the show, and decided on a name, how is Spidarus (Spy-dare-es) sound for his name?

The name sounds fine, but I'm still trying to get a feel for what type of episode(s) this would be. Primarily comedy? Primarily action/adventure? How is the spider character meant to be seen by the audience? As a real and serious threat? As a somewhat foolish and somewhat threatening villain? (ie, how scary/competent/intelligent/evil will he be?)

I'm just trying to get a better handle on this.

He'd probably be a serious threat but with some comedy to him, the comedy being his motive for wanting to kill them, simply because he thinks he's better than them and wants to prove it, even by outright murder. So he'd be an egotistical villian but pretty competant up until he gets furious during the race and tries to kill them.

I agree entirely.

That said, do we really need a timeline for most stories? I mean, do the characters really have to age? I think a lot of stories could be developed with the characters ages static from the series.

The reason for the characters aging on the VS series is because of the intent on the seasons. probably involving the younger characters toi be involved a litle more or in different situations. like Kit flying a plane and getting his license for instance. The aging process is something to discuss I know, but yeah it can work if done properly.
