(I have searched around and didnt find any topic like this, if im wrong then i guess a revive or just me making a mistake, Bare with me i rarely make topics so if i done something wrong, Sorry ^^)

As the title says, We all know balto and jenna are together and in love, and steele loves jenna but jenna dont love him back.

My question is why do people think Jenna and Steele should be together??
I know alot of people think balto and jenna should be together, and i agree 100%.
but there is others who are making fan-pups,Roleplays etc of jenna and steele in love, I dont see why people could consider that as in my opinion they dont match

I just made this topic as i seen some why do people hate aleu and why hate stella and so on, so i making this to ask why do some of you think steele and jenna are a better couple?

I've seen it too, and can't understand it one bit. Like why horrible villains would have die hard fans. D:

well in other films bad boys could be considered worthy. but steele.. I mean have you seen him?! hes worst then bad he is a glory hound :/ hate those, i dont understand how people like him, but the topic is why would people think he suits jenna?

I was talking about why the people who pair Jenna and Steele would think they're a good match.
Nothing against them personally, but I don't know why... she does already have Balto...

And yea but i seen things saying if balto didnt exist, that jenna and steele will be together, i would disagree as in the first part of the film you see jenna rejecting steele without knowing balto likes her (i think, memory aint great)

plus where is the people who do think steel and jenna match? i see none posting, they are the ones i ment to ask

I hope you won't mind me putting it bluntly, but... It's a pairing-specific topic. Sure, Steele mating with Jenna sounds weird, but haven't we all heard about much weirder ideas? The fans seem to be fighting to think of a most original pairing, everywhere where fan art/fiction/etc. is stored, a wide range of impossible/improbable/simply wrong/homo/etc. pairings can be found... Why would Balto be an exception?

Agreed, but I think it's far too general rule. I'd rather say that the pairings that are strictly against the movie characters' characters are annoying, the others - verisimilitudinous - are often quite acceptable. There is no example I could give from Balto, but as we're speaking in general at the moment... Take a look at Lion King's fandom. On FFnet I've read a great Jagabor's story featuring Scar's pairing with Sarafina. It wasn't a tiniest bit annoying, in fact, it was rather good - even despite it's evidently against what the movie shows us. A smart manipulation of events, remembering about continuity and such, in the hands of a talented author, can justify many surprising pairings.

On the other hand, the acceptable pairings are a rare case. Usually the authors confuse originality with improbability. I'd never read any homosexual-based fanfic...



Again, you're right. And again, I'd make some exceptions. There were some fanfics using anthropomorphization in a correct, acceptable way. Still, in most cases this is sadly true.

I think Fan couples should be on 2 single characters, not on characters that were paired in the original.

Not necessarily, though I'd agree that using characters already coupled in other pairings may easily lead to aforementioned turning fanart into fancrap.



Of course! There is hardly any exhaustive saying Had everybody thought that arguments are useless since the other side is possibly idiots, no one would ever learn through discussion on forums... And, in my opinion, it's the discussions what makes the forums really worthwhile.

I think they could possibly work until Steele's glory hound got the better of him and he lost Jenna. Then again Jenna has hated Steele for who know's how long and will shoot him down every possible chance that she gets when he asks her out (example Balto 1). 25% chance that Steele gets Jenna to go out with him and 75% chance Jenna shoots him down when he asks.

What can I say that hasn't been said a hundred times? Steele never even loved Jenna in any true sense; it was all about himself and his wants.
Exhibit A: He couldn't take no for an answer.
Exhibit B: He was willing to sacrifice all the children in Nome, including Rosie, for his own ends. Whether or not Jenna was on his mind at the moment he made that decision is neither certain nor relevant; when you love someone, you don't run roughshod over those they care about just to suit your ego.
Exhibit C: He lied to her. I can't think of any good reason a guy would lie to the girl he loved, especially not in that situation.
I could go on, but I'll just wrap it up by saying that Jenna chose Balto. If you don't like it, I can't see why you would watch the movie.
I mean what does Steele actually have in his favor? A few dumb chromosomes?

I have a EXTREMELY hypothetical question:

IF the plot was different, IF Steele actually succeeded and got Jenna, and Balto stayed skulking around town: would you still support the Balto/Jenna pairing, even though it was against canon, and even though people pressed on you that Steele/Jenna was canon, Balto/Jenna was silly "fanon"?

(Please no talk about 'but this would never happen', that is not the point.)
