Well, although this is really late, I did see the movie 9 on 9-9-09 at 9 PM with some friends. I gotta say, it was pretty good!

Good things: Stunning visuals, very realistic kind of setting, and interesting story.

The not-so-good things: it felt rushed... I mean, 9 has only been alive for less than a day and he's already using relatively complex reasoning skills?

Anyway, post your opinions! I'd like to hear what you all thought of this movie.

I saw it a couple of weeks ago though honestly, I only saw it because it was something to do with other people. It was an ok animated film, and yea, it did feel a little bit rushed but I will say this, The animation was brilliant.

I fully agree on that! The guys behind the animation deserve praise for it!

It is really worth seeing! I'm quite sure you'll leave the theater very glad that you went to see it. Besides, if nothing else, it's the first CGI movie that was rated higher than PG. XD

Tim Burton worked on this movie, right?

I'd watch it, maybe. I don't know, doesn't seem like what I'd normally watch, but I guess broadening your movie preferences isn't a bad thing.

I'd go see it but I'd have to go with a friend, my mom wouldn't want to watch that. xD

I know I'm only 10, but I reeeeally want to see it. It caught my interest when I saw the preview on my cousin's Coraline DVD.

Metal Head Pup: Yes, Tim Burton I believe was one of the producers.

Thelionpride: If you enjoyed Coraline, you'd probably like this. Granted, 9 has considerable violence (not graphic, and most of it is directed at other machines, but it's still worth mentioning) and has a somewhat darker premise, but they're on the same level of... "very weird but great" style. Coraline fans would enjoy this movie.

Rooney: don't worry, seeing it on 9-9-09 at 9 PM was cool, but it didn't have an effect on the movie, unless I saw it in theater 9 (I saw it in theater 5... I guess they figured the universe would implode or something! XD) but I agree. It did make me feel for the characters, and actually feel bad when bad things happened to them. It did very well in that regard.

I saw this the opening weekend and I thouroughly enjoyed that movie. I felt that is was pretty dark until I realized it was PG-13 and then I understood that rating. The only disappointment for me was the ending which seemed lackluster and could have been so much more with what led up to it.

@Spartz: Yea the movie was very good In my opinion. I thought that it was a little too long at parts, but for the most part I got more out of it than I expected. You'll have to wait for the DVD at this point but you should check it out. It was very dark for an animated movie and it's the first time in a long time that I've heard of/seen an animated movie that's gotten above a PG rating(not including south park).
