Hey steet,
I was just thinking, if Talespin Source get's quite popular, they are all going to talk in the TSS SB (just like they're doing on BS), so I was thinking, how about you make the "Shared" box the default shoutbox for all four (soon to be five) site's? Wouldn't it fit logic, if people want to talk about Balto, Lion King, TaleSpin Exec. then go to that shoutbox, but for general discussion, why not use the Shared.

Just a suggestion, feedback from anyone would be great thanks.

Personally in my opinion, every site should have their dedicated shoutbox as their default shoutbox. For example, TaleSpin source should still have the TaleSpin Shoutbox as it's main shoutbox, which would be the default. That way these shoutboxes won't be ignored like the Balto Box was back then.

Which is what I think. They may not be much used currently, but this may change too. One day, BS will not be the only attraction and when this happens, the other shout boxes could become more active.

Then the shared box is a waste of space. Noone uses it.

I agree with Conay's points...and indeed the shared boxed is hardly ever used. A global one would be better, at least for now. Besides, the Balto shoutbox is usually general discussion anyway.

And would anyone use the site boxes if we would swap them? No.

I think that the main box should be the site box, and that people should talk about things related to the site in there. Otherwise, they should go to the shared box. Maybe this should be a rule.

As it is, it's hard to change habits, people only stay at the first box they see because that's what they're used to. Swapping boxes wouldn't change anything.

Well, as Ghost said, make the shared box the default one, then it could be used for general discussion. If you want to talk about Balto/TLK/TS then go to that shoutbox.

And I could copy/paste my previous answer, and it still works We're not getting very far.

Exactly! People would use the shared box for general discussion if you make the Shared box the default. And people would use the site boxes to talk about the site's subject!

As Steet stated.. why not just write the Rule like the no rp rule on the shout box.. As Site Related discussion only and the mods to enforce it.. though.. it will be a Major hassle as people are already used to it.. but eventually.. then the Balto Box will be dead.. As all Discussions are general..

I'm up-ping this topic, because time flies, and nothing changes - people are still going ONLY on the BS shout box.
So, I'm making a poll. If swapping boxes will not make the site boxes more active, at least it will make the other AS sites "feel" more active. I may finally try to do it.

I agree. I mean, another factor. When registering via www.animationsource.org, you may look at the recent comments and see "2 days", it's rather off-putting if you ask me. Although this seems a good idea.
