Anybody Have a favorite prehistoric animal? I'd have to say mine would be a Velociraptor, mainly for pop culture reasons (Jurassic Park and the old n64 Turok games).

Velociraptor/Deinonychus. I always thought they were scary/cool. Then, Jurassic Park confirmed it. ^.^

Interestingly enough, the raptors in Jurassic Park were many, many times bigger than the actual animal. In truth, the raptor was about the size of a chicken, or slightly larger. However, Spielberg didn't think that was scary enough, so he made them much larger. Just a funny story.

I just learned something new, haha. I also heard that the noises the raptors made in the film were actually high pitched Dolphin calls.

Metal Head Pup wrote: I don't think they should, for they're more recently extinct... But it really doesn't matter to me. Mine would be a brachiosaurus or an apatosaurus. Basically Sauropods in general! Spinosaurus and Velociraptor are my favorite carnivores though
